Sorry to hear this. Just yesterday I was actually looking them up to see how many more complaints they have recently received, and as usual there are more stacking up. I just don’t know how a company like this is stopped, they should all be in jail. If that’s the same Peter that was there when I was dealing with them, he’s as crooked as the rest, he had no intention of helping you.
Are they still going to trade shows, that might be the place to cause them the most grief. Stand beside their booth and hand out flyers warning people how they do business.

I had a buddy that handed out a paper showing how much less the Wheat Board was getting us than a typical ND farmer at Ag-Days and he got booted real quick. The criminals are always protected, it seems to be the Canadian way...

Was killing some time so once again thought I would check out my old buddies. My god I think they are actually getting worse, if that’s even possible. Steady list of complaints, at least half a dozen or more just in 2023.
Guess I should keep this thread a little more active, hopefully it will help someone from making the same mistakes. Sounds like a lot of them are in the construction side, maybe I should join a construction thread, but imagine they have been talked about there as well.

Noticed Swman missing too. I have been getting away from reading/posting on forums this winter and so more infrequent but seems like he just disappeared.
Yes Kevlar, I suppose people will keep having your experience. I don't know how that is possible as one would normally think such a business would be tits up by now but a couple things come to mind.
1. The banking sector has created an untold number of zombie companies and zombie consumers last decade. All requirements to be accountable, able to pay your debt, restrictions on borrowing were thrown out the window. You don't create massive debt expansion and inflation by lending based on sound analysis. So I would say Leon's will stay in business as long as this a desired outcome.
2. Kind of ties in with #1. As individuals we expect checks and balances, free markets, oversight and such to be pillars of our lives and so assume a company like Leon's would not be allowed to continue if they were in bad shape. But since priority #1 of the last decade was expand everything then a blind eye (or more) was used to ensure all such crap continued.
3. And likely the worst, is the people in that operation that knowingly operate in this fashion. It is one thing to screw over a few customers for a short term because of cash flow issues or some short term problems but after 3 or more years it is obscene. I would think many people who read of bad experiences with Leon's would think that it is all sorted out now and their own order will be ok.
There are some serious things going on here if the same things are happening. It is more than just a couple bad people or bad circumstances.

No, I didn't get suckered again!!! lol Just came across a few things yesterday that reminded me of my fight with them, so thought I would see if they have improved any. No, they have not. I thought I should keep this in the spot light and hopefully save others the money and headaches I went through.
If anyone that sees this is thinking of buying something from them, do not, DO NOT give them one cent until you have the product in your possession. And for trucking companies and contractors, I would just avoid them all together. Do a lot of research into their history, you will find the true story behind them, don't be like me and look them up and see that they have been around for 35+ years and assume they must be decent people, they are not. If you have unfortunately been sucked in, feel free to PM me and I will offer my advice. The only good thing I got from dealing with them was I got to meet and talk to a few very nice people who helped me out as much as they could.
Here are a couple links, notice the recurring theme.
And for anyone looking for my story.
Me being the way I am, if someone ever screws me over, they have gained a "friend" for life, you are welcome Leon's for the free advertising.
I'm ready to go after these assholes. Any advice?

I'm ready to go after these assholes. Any advice? Oh no! Not you too? I still keep checking back on them and they haven’t changed one bit. Still blows my mind. First of all, document everything you do with them, every phone call, who you spoke with and what they said, date and time, best is to get things in writing in an email but they are reluctant to do that, and give them a timeline to respond and if they are even one minute late call them again. Not sure if I recommend using a lawyer, that just costs more for you and doesn’t seem to bother them at all, they must have several lawyers working full time by the looks of how many people are in a court case at any given time. I suggest going to media or people that they deal with, that’s what seemed to work for me. It’s was the Manitoba Cooperator that actually reached out to me for the story, you could contact them. We also contacted trade shows and let them know what’s going on. Mind sharing a bit of your story and what you’ve done so far? Let me take a guess, I’ll bet the words “it’ll be delivered in a couple weeks “ were said?

Kevlar, the same person had written a bit more of an explanation on the other forum very shortly after he posted that on this forum. I tried finding it now on the other forum and I can't find it, its like it vanished so I doubt he will reply on here either. Rather odd for sure why someone would go to all that trouble to sign up on both these forums ( don't look at other farm forums to know if it popped up on others ) and then go dead. It wouldn't be Leons by any chance would it, testing out to see what new angle the farmers have to confront them ? LOL.

No, I’m pretty sure Leon’s has figured out how to handle every angle. Would like to see justice served but doubt it will ever happen.

That is very odd.
Interestingly , maybe Leon’s could have lawyers threatening slander? I actually had that happen to me by a different company in winkler. The story goes that the company mistakenly ripped off my tandem disc in December and drove it back to winkler from Morris. I immediately assumed it was stolen. Made a police report . It was two weeks until the police tracked it down . My neighbour helped by telling them he saw it go west on the 23 highway.
Anyways the guy who took it ripped it out of the frozen ground and wrecked one cylinder and then got it all covered in road salt . I got it back but was very pissed. They didn’t want to fix the cylinder or compensate . I demanded new seals on the cylinder and 500 bucks for tire wear and cleaning the disc. It was a 2014 38.5 summers disc . Very expensive tillage tool. When he sent me the cheque he made me sign a letter saying I would not publicly embarrass his company.
How would you feel if an ag company took off with your equipment ? The owner of the company or let’s say the father was really sorry and brought me coffee , it was his son who was the prick and who I was dealing with first !!!

Possibly, but it’s not slander if it’s all the truth. I looked into it 😉 I remember almost every avenue I tried had rules that protected them. I still believe stepping outside the legal process gets them the attention that they don’t want. No laws against telling the people they do business with or in their personal life to look up their BBB ratings or threads like this.

I saw that thread on the other forum but didn't notice it was taken down. More likely the forum operators took it down under the thinking they are going to avoid any possible fall out. Such as the topic of slander. Let's face it, when push comes to shove a lot of people just move on even though they are on the right side of things. So it would not surprise me at all the other forum may simply take down the discussion rather than let some people have a voice and express a position that is worthy of others to note.
Slander would be making statements that can't be proven or are intentionally misleading. I am no lawyer so don't quote me on that, I speak of how a justice system should work and not how our legal system operates - they are two different things these days. Anyway, if someone says they paid upfront for an item to Leon's and Leon's promised shipment in xxx time frame and didn't meet that, and did not meet the next date, nor the next, nor the next and you can prove it by showing the payment made and Leon in a position that can't prove delivery - then that is not slander. That is facts. And you don't have to post on an Internet forum your cheque, or delivery date quoted by Leon's. You can state these things publicly and then Leon's would have to take you to court to prove slander and that is where documents get shown.
You can say or write what ever you want. If you were not allowed to do that then there would be no free speech. The legal issues arise when you can't support what you stated. If I quote 12 weeks for delivery then that is perfectly legal. How can it not be. The legal issues arise when I don't deliver something in 12 weeks. And similarly, stating a company did not deliver something in 12 weeks is not illegal. It is illegal if you said it wasn't delivered in 12 weeks and running down the company for not meeting its date, when you actually got it in 4 weeks.
If you can't speak of your experience then we don't have free speech. Pick the kind of world you want to live in. I suspect the people operating the other forum already have.
Kevlar had an experience where he said Leon's was in the wrong. An independent media source also published the same experience. So it would seem the things Kevlar posted about have been verified and is also why Leon's has not come after him for "slander". And is also why this thread should have no reason to be taken down.

Free speech is coming under threat more and more in the world. Some people think that they can set the rules on what other people are allowed to say , or even what they are allowed to think. The whole woke culture thinks that they have that right. We are not allowed to offend them, but they don't even realize that they are offending us. When they are challenged on that, they don't know what to say.
There is a reason why it is called free speech. Not everyone has to think and believe the same thing. It is even sadder when people begin to worry about offending someone when speaking the truth like in the above mentioned scenario. I'm glad people are standing up for their rights. If we don't, pretty soon we won't have any!
