Well today they hauled away the best combine(by far) that I have ever owned or run. Then they brought this! Now I haven't run it yet, still needs GPS installed and honestly I'm a little worried about a new monitor layout when I was totally used to the old one. It still has a dial though, so I think I can avoid the touchscreen. Really liked the dials and buttons on the old Cebis monitor, far superior to the CNH touchscreens I ran previous. But clearly they are "Americanizing" this machine... It has the belt feeder, largest hopper and can't wait to unload that thing because it's supposed to be way faster. One thing I noticed right away is the side panels fold higher so I don't hit the middle of my forehead on them, although you have to be an olympic high jumper to grab the rear left panel(would rarely need opening, but still..) There is lots of other nice little improvements like steps into the grain tank. Trucker said of like 15 machines he has hauled out this fall only about 4 of the new ones were bought with a pickup header, shows how times have changed. I can't say if I will use the pickup or not this year, 2017 was actually the last time I used the swather... Hopefully get it in peas Monday, then will know more.

Looks good. The demo we had was nice to run and the screen was very easy to use. Basically the same as old one just touch screen

Okay we did 25 acres today, crop was a bit green so gave it a good test. The drives are definitely beefed up and I put some pretty big piles through and the combine ate them no problem. I'm warming up to the monitor, it does make sense just not familiar with it yet. Stone trap ejector rod works and no more crawling underneath to drag the stuff out of it. However you cannot leave rock trap open and lower feeder house all the way as it bends a bracket. Auger is FAST and cab is super quiet. The belt feeder seems to work really good and eats piles no problem. Side window wipers are a nice touch especially in the putrid black pea dust. Need to fold down the top of the hopper to climb in(as shown in picture), otherwise it's a stretch for even a tall guy. Bonus points for whoever can guess within 15 bushels of what the hopper holds in peas right at the full sensor. Stationary dump, not on the go.

I am going to take a wild shot at the bushels as I have no idea if full spec is over flowing or to the buzzer, 540 bushels is my guess.

540 seems like a lot. 472.

That's the fun of it, its a total unknown combine to me other then reading specs and having a suspicion.

The actual number is 551 bushels, peas are a 60# bushel but I haven't checked the test weight to see if these are slightly different. That is when the 100% light comes on, still was 4-5" of height left I believe depending on how fast one pulls back on the hydro lever. Going over the machine there are about 3 bearings that need manual greasing on the feeder house and the ladder pivot as well as a couple on the spreader drive shaft at rear. I believe they are all 250 or 500 hour fittings, so technically maybe grease once all year! I will do it more often though. To get the large hopper you have to order the auto-greaser and tracks. I had the auto-greaser on my 780tt and it worked awesome, zero bearing issues in 900 sep hours.

Yes auto greaser works well. We are at 1700 sep hours and just changed the rotor bearings this year just cause they were in there doing some other stuff. They actually put a manual grease line on to it as they found the older ones weren’t greasing them enough. Otherwise no trouble with bearings

That is a big freaking tank! Have auto greaser on my forage harvester and love it.
So is that a brand new machine Swman?

The tank is so nice, able to make a round where we never could have before, and faster auger means unloads don't take halfway across the field. Oats and corn will be where it really shines. Here is an action photo for radar.

I'm really curious about capacity difference between your old 780tt and the new 8700. As things progress, keep us in the loop.
