Yes the grease lines are metric thread.
I think the rotor grease was that it wasn’t greasing enough and the grease would harden up in the bearings and cause issues. You can’t over grease claas bearings so they have been putting the extra lines on most machines. Not sure if the are doing it on the new machines but any 700s that come in the shop they add the grease lines.

Claas has a hose with grease zerk that I can use to manually do some greasing. Will run to city and get that today. Was in city the other day and ran to 3 shops before finally getting some fitting to adapt down to a grease zerk and it didn't work, one was a JIC adapter that needed to be tightened down on the proper mating fitting to seal and I didn't have that so it leaked grease. Should have called claas first.
Another general question, adding DEF. First machine on farm to use def. I added two 9.5l jugs and figured this is not the long term answer. Ordered up a 208l drum as I figure a tote will take a few years to use. Will get a manual pump. So, when I am on ground pumping, is there a way to avoid over filling? I haven't noticed a sight glass. Don't think it's possible to see in tank, so do I go into cab 2 or 3 times to check gauge or is there some other solution.

Only solution I have for filling def is not to have to do it.

If you have def left over keep it in a heated shop so it doesn’t crystallize after freezing . It’s the crystals that cause plugging problems .

Looking at that mess of muffler and electronics it would be nice to yard all that stuff off and put in some pipe and off the shelf muffler in that space. Maybe someday.
Yes, don't want to store def for years so a partial drum left can be easily kept in the shop over winter.

That’s the nice thing about the Mercedes. It’s just a software update to fix the def issues.
A auto shut off nozzle likely wouldn’t work for a hand pump. Might be a guessing game the first few times. Count how many strokes it takes to fill it or to have enough for the day.

Be nice to have a sight tube on the def tank, can't see in the top of tank so it would seem auto shut off nozzles are the only real option the designers had in mind. Or someone sitting in cab to watch gauge. I guess sight tubes are too much 1950s ish.
Parts guys had a list of fittings needed and had the items to add the manual greasing lines for rotors so got that installed yesterday. Pretty simple job to tee into lines on outside of combine. Parts guy said 6 to 10 pumps a day.
My steps for inside of hopper should show up any day.

I just fill a 20 litre pail of Def from my drum and when I'm fueling up, I fill the Def tank. Usually 2 or 3 pails. PITA I know but the wife has to do something!!

From what I hear the CAT engine uses very little DEF, not a daily fill by any stretch. Even what the Mercedes uses is a pittance compared to CNH machines from my own personal experience.

Except the V8 Mercedes we had to fill ours every day. The cats only need filled couple times in 100 hours from what the one farm told me.
