7-8 bags a year for us. Maybe 10. Depending what chemicals we spray. Have done as many as 34 jugs per fill in our sprayer. 320 acres worth. Glyphosate is in totes along with liberty. My brother generally deals with the mess of jugs and boxes while I’m running the sprayer so i could be way off on my estimation. Ha

Don't think I have 20 jugs to bag up this year. Last yr was two bags, probably 50 jugs 🤷♂️.

My neighbour had a funny term for what many of us used chemical jugs for. It was called JPS or jug positioning system!!!! Before the age of GPS we would always place white jugs on each end of the field so we could spray up and down instead of going around the field pulling a DOG. Anybody know what a DOG was? I am sure a few of the older guys would have used it! lol It was fashioned like a one way plow with three discs attached to a rope from the sprayer. It was measured to mark half the boom width and leave a black disc mark so you could see the next pass. Dad used it for years and I got to use it a bit before we adopted the JPS and not to be soon out done by driving a dirt bike up and down the field to make a field marker. AAAAAnd than came foam markers erggggggg , hated those things ! and one grand day we adopted the gps light bar!!! Oh those were the days!!!!

I’d sell the sprayer if I had to go without gps. Absolutely hated spraying with disk markers.

I have used dics markers unfortunately, hated them. Missed out on foam markers and it was the first thing I yanked off the 3 wheeled self propelled and went straight to gps. Back to the chem jugs, doing some spraying for a guy who works at the coop and he said they are taking now too. So it looks to be a phase out, but even clean-farms admitted to dropping the ball. The coop didn't get bags till last August and only one person dropped off since.

I am guessing government is at the centre of the complete dropping of the ball, someone in an office getting a substantial pay cheque and no clue of how screwed up it is to find out right in the middle of a busy season that the pile of jugs in the back of the truck can't be unloaded at the dump and the guy running the dump had no clue at all that retailers were now taking jugs. Is that correct that the government was paying the counties to collect the containers, something has changed to cause counties to stop collecting i would think. Well I will have to get some bags to have on hand and sort it out here at the farm and figure out where to pile up bags of them until I have a chance to haul them. I sure hope the plastic bag type they are using are not prone to breaking down with sunlight !.

The bags we get are very sturdy and stay good from spring till the next when you don’t get them hauled in.

The bags we get are very sturdy and stay good from spring till the next when you don’t get them hauled in. That's good to hear as I asked our retailer that the other day when I found this out and she said she sure hoped they will hold up as they only had a spot outside to keep them and of course they only found out two weeks ago I believe that all this was changing and the dump they used ( they farm also ) was shutting down acceptance of jugs.
Which reminds me, I have been using plastic grocery bags for years in my pickup as a vehicle garbage and since that seems to have come to an end for pretty much all stores from the looks of it, is it even possible to buy plastic bags with handles on.

Amazon has plastic grocery bags you can buy. I enjoy the looks I get when I take my brand new plastic bags into the grocery store. I’ve had a few ask me where I got them.

I was at Princess a few weeks ago to buy WD-40 that was on sale, they were almost out of plastic bags as another till had a few bags so she grabbed one for me and said this is it, no more bags for Princess. They had a bunch of "Princess" blue reusable bags hanging there for a low price as that is their theme going forward. UFA for example that always had really nice plastic bags, that is history as well and they are using paper bags like grocery stores used to use ( and Safeway has put back in use the last few years ). I am finding some plastic bags that I have stored away from stores are falling apart when pulled out to use as they would have been made by products that are causing them to degrade.
