Or how come a grease gun won't run out in an easy to get to spot? It's always in some spot you need to crawl to, twist like a corkscrew to reach, can barely get the tip to go on the zerk, give it 2 pumps, of which half squirts out the side, when it runs out or gets a gulp of air. yes had that happen too many times too, but now i have learned you can check how much grease is in the grease gun by gently puling on the rod ,if it comes out two inches i know their is two inches left ! I know, I try doing the easy ones to run it empty, but that never seems to work, or it looks like a couple inches left in the tube, but it's all air

You guys are all lucky, I swear my home quarter is on sacred grounds or maybe a pet cemetery. I have managed to loose a tractor at home. Next time I needed it its not where it should be. Ask the wife where the IH is and get the usual response of "how the hell am I supposed to know!" Only to spend an hour thinking about it and wondering around to remember where and why I left it there. Only to remember where and why and the wife picked me up from the tractor. I swear she never listens to me.

Growing up I was amazed at how often my dad would bang his head on something while working on equipment and I never did. Now that I’m older, it’s happening more and more. At first I blamed my cap. That it obstructed my view. But I wore a cap during my younger years. I now believe that I’m so engrossed in the repair I’m doing that I totally forget there is a cultivator shovel or an angle iron above my head.

Two owners before me on one of my quarters down by the Red River was expanding his basement and came across a Native grave and the story is told he was buried with his clothing and war weapons. They removed the grave and continued on with the basement project. Well two generations later and whenever I work on that land something bad happens. I have broken two truck diffs, strangely run out of diesel , numerous combine break downs, severe crop damage, put my back out , flat tires, run over deer horns and numerous other bad luck. The two guys before me had huge crop disasters and one went bankrupt and the other guy got cancer. I call it my bad luck field, but my helper is french and he calls it the lucky bad field. !! My wife suggested throwing gifts into the field before we start working. She was a life saver because whenever I throw an offering like an apple or nice hamburger we have good luck. Sometimes I forget and that is when trouble brews. Those settlers , I think disturbed the Gods and now its trouble! It would have been unsettling to remove a grave. I am not really religious at all, but I am very superstitious. I refrain from making fun of people because if I do usually bad luck comes back and kicks me in the butt. he he he. Any of you guys superstitious.

My mystery is with those wrenches that have a ratchet on the one end, and how it always ratcheting the opposite direction to what I want on the first try when I go crank on a bolt. Then even after i get the first bolt tightened, go to start cranking on the next bolt and the stupid wrench has flipped and ratcheting the wrong way again even though it never left my hand!
Actually that’s not true, I had once last fall that it was cranking the right way first try and I was so excited I had to call my friend to tell him. Lol
Good thread idea SW👍

Why is every fuel tank on every vehicle empty when I WANT TO USE IT! Hardly anything breaks while you are not using it either, with the exception of tires and batteries, it is just a law of nature, but kind of a bendy one.

You have four heifers close to calving, you bring in three for the night "just in case", the one you didn't bring in is 100% going to calve that night.

Any of you guys superstitious. I dug up an old burial site years ago when I was in construction. Was opening up a new pit and screening gravel, saw what I thought to be a perfectly round stone so got out to look at it. Was quite the shock when I picked it up and turned it around to see a skull looking at me! Wasn't sure what to do so we called the police and they came to make sure that it wasn't a crime scene. They shut us down for a couple days to remove everything and look for more, but was only one body. They gave it to the local reserve and they gave it a burial.
Can't say it ever gave me bad luck, but to think of it, I've never really had good luck.

Lol Good thread idea SW👍 Yes it's almost therapy to see that life's little problems are a common bond that we can laugh about! Another one is when you think that what's left is gonna fit in the truck and you go for it usually ends with a way overloaded truck brimming full and 25 bushels left in the bin that just won't fit... Ratchet wrenches tighten in the direction the open end points to, at least mine do. That's Mastercraft ones but maybe others are different, or the gremlins got in your toolbox and randomized yours. LOL

All the ratchet wrench’s I’ve used work that that. But some have the lever on them and you put it on the wrong way.
I’m not sure how many times the bin is almost empty and you think it will fit in the tandem trailer but nope. So next time you load the trains and only end up with 20 tonne in it.

LOL Holy smokes, thank you. I didn't know that! That must be me always grabbing the wrench in the way that gets me a better grip that makes it ratchet the wrong way. We need an "Unsolved Mysteries SOLVED" thread now....
