This is a series called Highway Patrol I've never seen before but I find it rather amusing. In this episode it happens to have an appearance by a young Mr Clint Eastwood. This was a show aired from 1955 to 1959 so without a doubt has older cars and trucks and the way they dressed at that time, how the roads looked back then and not staged as it was all in the period it was filmed.

Interesting slice of life in the fifties, although I do find the dialogue a bit regimented in these old movies/programs. It seems Clint wanted to play the tough guy in every movie/program he ever made. LOL!

That particular series has a theme I would call it teaching moments. And Clint, I thought he would be the one to push back but instead they chose him to be the one to try and cool his friend down.

So many movies, but this one I would have to put at number one for me.
And yes, its the real one, not the bullshit remake one, that pisses me off when they do that...says something about the creativity of these modern writers and producers, can't come up with their own stuff so they try to get rich off the past

I'll bet its been since the 1970's since I've seen kojak and don't even remember what the episodes were like but the name and his look are instant in recognizing that.
Ben-Hur, never had the opportunity to see that but some of those clips in the video I recall seeing, probably when Charlton Heston's life was being talked about. Charlton Heston in Midway is one that had visions that stuck with me.

I remember the Original Ben Hur, I haven't seen the newer version and don't care if I do.
Charlton Heston made some good movies, I remember seeing the 10 Commandments in about 1967 or 8

Not that far back but I always enjoy the Dukes of Hazzard, except for the Coy and Vance episodes... Haha

Found a DVD of the Beverly Hillbillies in the bargain bin at Walmart for $5, had to explain the story to the kids but after a few episodes we were all laughing til our sides hurt. Good reminder of old fashion humour.

As a kid, I remember my folks dragging me along to see 'Ben Hur' on the big screen some time in the late seventies. I don't remember a lot about it except the chariot race, which I thought was quite violent at the time.
They also dragged us along to see 'the sound of music', which I hated and I could never understand why some kids trying to out run the murderous Nazi SS would stop periodically to sing gay songs like a bunch of fairies.
Then they took us to see 'Star Wars' on the big screen. Now THAT was a movie! I thought it was the most awesome movie I had ever seen.
'Planet of the apes' was another one I saw on the big screen and I recall it spooked me a bit.
'The Car' was another spooky one and also Spielberg's 'Duel" which was a masterpiece in suspense.
I also remember seeing 'Grease' (without the folks) in the late seventies. I thought it was pretty cool at the time. I distinctly remember walking out to get ice creams, in the intermission, trying to emulate John Travolta's swagger. I'm sure I looked a right dork!

I can sure see how The Sound Of Music would not go over well with the average teen boy who typically is more interested in action shows and cool things, people breaking out into rather odd songs dancing around like fairies wearing curtain clothes is more then confusing for sure. I never saw it nor most of the movies you listed Bigtalk until well into adulthood in seeing a few of those listed and in fact only a couple of years ago did I find a copy of Duel. I've never seen Grease either but had seen a local production of it on a stage theatre and they even drove a car of likeness onto the stage as their prop.
I wonder if some of the production live theatres will ever come back for the reason I don't even have to state as its not like a movie theatre where they can open the doors and start playing a movie if there are any to show.

Actually as a kid I never really understood what Sound of Music was really about...never was a fav and still isn't but least now I know what it was really all about.
Some of those old comedies were the best, the Bev Hillbillies and so many more, but a fav has always been one that included characters like Mr Douglas, Mr Haney, and never forget Arnold the pig!

Charlton Heston made some good movies, I remember seeing the 10 Commandments in about 1967 or 8 I have a four disc set of both movies, was on ebay few years back, given how long both of them movies are, its nice in that format when you can stop and restart when it works for you. Ten Commandments is awesome too.

Oh Kojak was my guy when everyone else was the Dukes of Hazard lol. I still call them magnetic revolving lights for on the roof of a truck a "kojak light" lol, seems everyone always knows what I mean, well as long as they was as old as most of us lol. Kirk Douglas, Hesston, The Duke John Wayne, Clint Eastwood, I dunno guess its like music, most of the movies were just better back then IMO
