When a person thinks of almost dying while shaving, choking on shaving cream isn’t what comes to mind first!

Yikes, glad you're still with us. Gillette will now have a message on the shaving cream can “May cause suffocation” That is an odd thing to occur! Yikes

SWMan, that does it ... from now on I will only use whipped cream to shave with ... might become the new rage "100% natural safe edible shaving cream" in a can.
It goes to show all the crap chemicals they put into such substances, I did come up with information on shaving cream poisoning which would mean ingesting some volume of it I would imagine in some instances but one of the symptoms is "breathing difficulty". They claim shaving cream is not very toxic but never the less it has dangers.

Be like Kramer and use butter! Just don't use it for suntanning and fall asleep.

So, at what point does a person do an emergency tracheotomy (sp)? It would have been a bugger if you'd have pierced your trachea just before you started breathing again ... but then again it might have been necessary to save a life. 🤔

Yes I did a little looking and some very nasty side-effects including breathing irritation. I don't see how a lot of these chemicals need to be in our food and hygiene products. We started making our own deodorant, soap and shampoo from our beef tallow and simple ingredients and it works fine, just hadn't tackled shaving cream yet. I had done some hair analysis testing a couple months ago and found out I had high levels of lead, probably from some of this crap I have used over the years...not sure where else I would have gotten it from besides possible grease, fuel or oil. Detoxing from that now. If it had gone on longer I was thinking to lay on the floor and ask for CPR, it felt like my lungs were collapsed and I literally had to force air in with all the effort I could muster!

I don't mean to make lite of this but when you say lay on floor and ask for cpr it reminds me of a fire call.
LP leak outside house. Get there one person laying in front yard with a panic attack. Get everything wrapped up and bystander says "good thing I'm trained in cpr" I said "did you have to give cpr?" Them "no but I know what to look for". Me "yeah, usually when they're talking and breathing that's a good sign they don't need it."

If a survey was done asking people to list the top 10 ways someone could die from shaving, I doubt SWman’s scenario would have even been thought of! lol

I meant motion for CPR because obviously I wasn't verbalizing anything at that point.

Hauled a load of barley to get cleaned today, turned on the heater and had a terrible vibration, I knew almost immediately what the likely cause was. When I got home I confirmed my suspicion. Had the same thing years ago in my half ton, except it was just the head stuck in the blower, completely decapitated the mouse ☹️
