well mrs oat king is helping work on this project ! Pretty cool how oat starch can preserve food . Full article in Manitoba cooperator . oats have had quite a bit of research innovations lately . Oat protein was in the news promoting a healthy heart . Agriculture Canada has some pretty smart scientists . I know the two scientists working on this oat material and they love farming as well . They are very down to earth phd guys but find what us farmers do is so interesting. mrs oat king works with these scientists in the lab. work like this will help us get more exposure on the world market . That will be great for oat prices !! It will only move the market .25c. For the reason that every framer and their dog will grow oats. Then they will want to have an IP program.

Did you're wife get her hair styled after the demise of Ryan ? . What a horrible thing for those three children, they have certainly lost their dad and if she is found guilty they have lost her as well.
As an edit I conferred with my friend and she set me straight on the length of time the murderous wife of her brother was sentenced to, the murder took place in 1997 and in 1998 the psycho bitch was sentenced to 35 years although multiple parole hearings have taken place since and she would have been let out some years ago already but the family of the late husband went to the parole hearings and get the idea that has helped keep her behind bars but she is due to be released later this year. Not sure what her age is so a rough guess of around 70 now possibly. Never the less the family is still worried that psycho bitch may come after them even now when she gets out. Oh and she shot her husband twice in the back ( she always carried a gun in her purse ) and in fact she threatened that she would shoot him even when they were still dating if he ever left her ... why the hell he then married her is a good question but the stage was set well before the final event.
Mind you this case has to tried yet and even if she was guilty, that has to be proven so they must feel they have some evidence to make the charge. This story in a way reminds me of a friend who's brother years back was murdered on the front lawn of his house in daylight by his wife shooting a side arm at him from the front door as he was walking away from the house to his car. Some time prior to that there was a family holiday gathering on his side of the family and him and his wife attended and for whatever reason in the table talk conversation some other couple was brought up and he had left her ... well this lady spoke up and said if her husband ever left her, she'd kill him ( and she meant it ). Well they did have marriage problems and he was staying elsewhere for a short while and then came to "their" house and he told her he was finished with the marriage. She shoots him in the back and then claimed self defence that he was threatening her. Only because of the testimony of the family in stating under oath of what she had said and so on did she get convicted of murder. She was in jail for at least 20 years and I am assuming she is out now but would be an older woman by now. There was never any remorse from her at all, in her mind she was justified, thankfully they they never had children but my friend and her siblings and his parents lost him in a flash all because of a crazy person only thinking of herself ... all about her in the marriage.

It was before he was murdered, she had a hair salon right there at the farm but quit everything afterwards. She and the kids were living on a different farm a half mile away from the original house now. Kids are now wife his brother family a mile the other direction now, so at least they can stay in the same school system and have good family support moving forward. They're good kids but they are all going to be in for a tough pull now.
Personally I don't think this is over. I think she had help. No gun ever recovered so someone had to get rid of it. I bet she rolls on someone now. First degree murder carries mandatory life with no possibility of parol in Iowa.

Got a call from the community pasture manager a couple days ago that we have a cow and a new calf in one of the pasture fields. Thinks the calf is a couple weeks old. She was never at that pasture this summer so we aren’t sure when she went missing from our herd. We are thinking it was when we had them out on some stubble and must have wondered up there at the beginning of November. Took some hay up to her and set some panels up to hopefully catch her soon and bring her home. Good thing it’s been a mild winter for her and the new calf.

The cow and calf came into the pen we had made up that night and we got the gate closed. Went up with the trailer the next day and she must have been happy to get home because she wanted on the trailer as soon as she saw it. Calf wasn’t very wild either which was surprising. The one ear on the calf has a bit of frost bite on the top but otherwise the cow and calf are healthy.

Don't know if anyone here has tried or heard of this technique for a calf that won't nurse but it worked for me once.

I don't mind tubing if needed but when they won't suck all tubing does is provides them with energy to fight you.
