I was driving to work and heard a plane hit a tower. I thought it was just a small plane as that has happened before. Not a big deal, then I heard the second one hit. Ok something is up. Got to work and went to the lunch roon and seen the news, kinda stood there in disbelief with everyone else.

Yup. Was in the mall and the tvs in the stores were showing the footage. Couldn't believe what I was watching. Sad thing is twenty years seems like a long enough time that gives one hope that things can change but that's just a blip in time to a people where hatred is a way of life.

I was reminded of what time of year it is today, some strange vehicle drives into the yard and yup its a hunter asking if they can gain access onto land to reach someone else's grazing lease to hunt elk and we still have crop on that land and anyway its been a gong show of idiots with no permission tearing around on that land when its muddy etc in the last few years. I explained all this to him and said I would give him a call and let him know either way. Then I called a neighbour that lives up that road as he also has a cattle lease and obviously does not want anyone shooting around when his cattle are in the lease as this hunter said he had talked to the neighbour last year but did not get permission then. So that hunter shows up at the neighbours and tells the farmers wife that I HAD given him permission ....... well isn't that special. I called the guys cell number and left a message that only a complete idiot would not realize meant to stay the FUK off the land period ! . We seem to get guys coming up from central Alberta all the way up here just to go hunting and this guy was from Edmonton, a real con type person that seems to be in heavy equipment sales

About 30 years ago I had a customer tell me that he found a couple hunters on his land (near Okotoks). He asked them if they had permission and they said they did. he said "that odd, I own the land and i have never seen you before and that he dod not want hunters on his land" the one hunter told hi to go to h3ll, he will hunt wherever he wanted. A REALLY thick book can be written about ignorant, disrespectful hunters.

A buddy had the exact same thing happen with an old lady picking peas on his field. Only she wasn't disrespectful and alot embarrassed after.

One of my dads friends had a family going into his grazing corn and picking it one year. It wouldn’t have much taste as my grandma tried to cook some one year just because.

I’ve tried it before, a friend grows it for silage. Cobs look beautiful, but not the taste!

Hunter talk reminds of a story the neighbor told once.
Have a couple neighbors down a dead end road and live on top of the hill at the end. They're a bit protective. Other neighbor was there once and one of the top of the hill neighbors confronted one of the local useless that thought he was a bad ass. The neighbor said you're trespassing get out of here. The useless, holding a shotgun and tapping a shell on it while leaning against his truck, said what are you going to do about it. The neighbor proceeded to grab the useless's shotgun, throw it, grab the useless and proceed to bounce his head off every side of the truck leaving him unconscious and bloody.

Quite the neighborhood you live in there captain! Interesting day here yesterday. The RM gravelled a mile of dirt road next to me that has not seen gravel in my lifetime. They had not even graded it all year(I have been maintaining it). Not sure if someone got the wires crossed, or all levels of government now have an unlimited supply of money...

I thought yesterday was special enough but today took that prize and ran further yet, unbelievable. So of all the things this hunter and his buddy show up in my yard today again and I was in the back of a shed and I hear someone calling my name and then I see someone and he's still quite a ways away but thought no, it can't be ... oh but it was !. The lying idiot from yesterday shows up after my very curt message on his cell and I said what are you even doing here on this yard, get the Fuk off the yard NOW !, and then he babbles about how there was a misunderstanding and I said NO there was no misunderstanding, you LIED to the neighbours wife and to her husband ( he restated twice to both people about having gotten permission from me ) and so again get the FUK off the yard NOW. His short legs were moving quickly but not as fast as I was walking, I was pissed off. His buddy in the pickup who never poked his head out yesterday is babbling about oh sorry ... bla bla bla misunderstanding but I paid no attention as it was all over accept the crying for those two idiots. The guy really does have balls the size of basketballs to even think that he could con his way onto our land and to come here after knowingly lying to gain that all important permission to access that awkwardly accessible cattle lease.
I had a chat with a friend/neighbour who is the son of the one who holds the large cattle lease and explained what happened and he too had run into this character at one of the few road allowance accessible lease gates and said its no surprise this hunter is a salesman the way he smooth talked. My friend said that he doesn't dare go into his dads lease during the weekend during hunting season as its a shooting gallery in there and surprised hunters haven't shot each other yet. Its elk that they are mostly after and by hook or crook they want to gain access the easy way as the lease holder specifically states that NO motorized vehicles be used so that means walking period to hunt and to carry out what they shoot.

There was a younger guy that used to live next to our property where dad's cabin is, he tried to kick dad off his own property! Dad chewed his ass out!

I wonder how some of these poachers would feel if I was walking thru or hiding in there back yard with a shotgun. Most hunting A holes have 0 respect for land and wild life. Its just a game for them. Its the same story all the time when I catch them...Oh I have permission. Than I say this is my land and you have no f ..n right here. Another thing bugs me when they ride there snow mobile or quad over my land. A while back a neighbour driving thru a farmers ditch over turned his snowmobile and died.
One neighbour got sick and tired and set up a bunch of bear traps on his wooded land.
