2 of 3 cattle waterers had the fuses off I learned today, I was certain those were all checked a week ago but never froze until last night. Not sure if the cows were more excited for bedding or water....probably water! I don't know what it is about those cattle waterers but they sure know how to stop working when the weather is ugly. I checked mine a couple weeks ago when it was nice out. Light came on, element was hot, perfect, all is well. Snow storm hits, next morning, its frozen! No light, no heat. Eventually changed the thermostat and the indicator light. Both were toast. Seems like those thermostats only last two or three years.

I wasn't expecting it to be quite this cold this morning, the forecast was obviously off. It was -29 and a freezing fog all morning. Have not had near the snow that some of you have been having, I am just guessing that the snow fall warning that swept over Alberta to the south added up to something. I guess on the plus side it could have kept on being winter like ever since Oct 20th when we got the first introduction into winter and snow, and won't have as bad a heating bill as it could have been. I suppose this means the carbon tax just kicked mother nature in the nuts to cool us off ... of course who really needs a fricken hard kick in the nuts to send him out into orbit is slime ball Justine Sparkle Socks.

Our newest water bowl had the thermostat quit after the snow. Was froze solid. At least it wasn’t too cold out to fix and the pipe coming up wasn’t froze.
