I have gravel showing up in my yard!!!!!🥳🥳. Temps aren’t getting as high as they had predicted and they have lowered them for the week but it’s still decent out.

We had a high of 18 C yesterday. Wasn't much snow before and now there is basically none. Little bit of rain today. Anything can still happen weather-wise. Four years ago it was -20C this time of year. About 40 years ago I remember getting stuck in the middle of the road in wet heavy snow on April 8.
Wouldn't mind a little more moisture before seeding, but a good rain after after seeding is much nicer.

+18C here today and high winds, on some fields the dirt is blowing already leaving a bit of a haze. Frost is coming out and forecast is continued warm. Last year it was a blizzard at this time. I would expect to see some sort of fieldwork in a week or so at this rate, I would probably only just pick stones this early. Great to have a dry yard but definitely wouldn't turn down a rain!

I was looking back through some pictures the other day, two years ago on April 24 we had a blizzard and the RM had to use the dozer to open up some of our roads, so don’t be getting too excited it being dry! Water started running a bit yesterday and today most water runs are running but most of the culverts were frozen so it ran over the roads in a few places, looked like most of them were starting to open up just before dark. Still a fair bit of snow to melt here, mostly along bush lines and such. Never got as warm all week as they were calling for, most days maybe got to 5 instead of the 10-12 they called for. I’m predicting one more snow yet, our yard has just about melted off and will take a few more days to dry up, that’s when we usually get a wet snow.

Same here Sw man , water is finally running , what little there is ! You could be right kevlar about a big snow . Warm Wind is helping get rid of all the thick ice at the farm yard !
I am sure impressed with the new hog barn owners . They were busy pumping water into their dugout . A few days and they got them full . The reason I say this is the previous owners would plug off culverts and leave them plugged . That slowed my run off . Now my field is running off nicely . The new owners even phoned and asked me if they could block the culvert . Having good neighbours has an effect on your farm income !

next week looks cool and wet ! Looks like a bit of snow to boot! That might stop the madness to try and seed this week ! I heard seeding might start east of Morris this week! 😬

No seeding here for awhile, just took the first of our grain to get cleaned for seed today! Not to mention all the snowbanks yet. Today was the first really nice day, warm sunny and no wind. Next week looks back to normal temperature with chance of rain or snow most days.

Anyone look at the eclipse? Not a big deal here. The amazing thing is the experts telling the people to protect their pets from looking at it?!! I thought April fools was on the first. No end to wacky world these days.

You were in luck to capture that image, it was completely overcast here so I didn't see it but it did seem "nippily" out though.

I got some friends riding their bikes down In Oklahoma that got some good photos of the eclipse. Turned pretty much dark where they were.

I think we were in the 80% coverage area. Kind of forgot about it today until I got to noticing it was and oddish color out. Kind of like looking through yellowish sunglasses.
