Is GSI still using narrow guage sheets or did they go to wide guage. Makes no difference, just curious.

To me it is easier to look at $/bu. Hopper bin with air package seemed to stay in that $3.25 to $4/bu range for quite a few years depending on bin size. That was also for $3.50 barley and $5.50 wheat. If grain prices stay up then I would rewire how a guy thinks about what is expensive.
Sure, cost to build a shed is way up since 10 years ago. But I don't think there ever was a time I could sell two loads of mustard and pay for a shed. I can this year.

Have they got most of the bins replaced that were destroyed from the big wind storm you had there a couple years ago? Could still be lots going that direction? After looking up different bins and options and sizes, seeing the size of some of these bins and the pictures of some of the yards these companies have done, I see just how small and insignificant my operation is! Lucky that the guy even bothered to call me back!

I'd say everything from derecho 2020 that would've been replaced has been replaced. There was a derecho earlier this year across southern Iowa and Northern Missouri I think, not as big of an area but significant damage again, stretched into Illinois too.

My buddy just ordered two 10,000 hopper bottoms with skids out of Wpg. Don’t know brand but cost him $84,000 set up. Confirmed deal and next day they dropped of package at his place.

Nice size hopper! 4 bucks a bushel or so is not bad. That seems like a fantastic deal! But I guess the bolt togethers bins are quite a discount to meridians welded bins!

I’ll ask him. I think it was on Kijiji.

I think Hillside Farm Supply is Henry Wiebe, pretty sure he was involved with the development of Concept Industries. He often seems to have pretty good deals.

Ordered a couple 10,000 hoppers with skids. What does a guy need for a base under that? I’m thinking of going down to the clay, then a layer of oversized rock then a foot or so of A base. Would that be sufficient? I’ll get some specs on what I need from the guy, just thinking ahead. Eventually put them on cement but that won’t happen this year.
