Does anyone see bin prices coming down at all? Just priced one out, a little outrageous but what can you do? What surprised me was they could be here in a couple weeks to build it. Other years they were months out, tells me they aren’t moving much, but I don’t see prices coming down any time soon.

Can’t see them moving down much. Maybe next year if they want to move old stock. Bin crew that did ours this year were basically chasing the delivery trucks around to keep busy.

It might take another prairie and Midwest drought to decrease bin price but I don’t see it . Always a need for different types of steel world wide. I am surprised you could have one set up so soon ! In this part of the world things are not that quick! Impossible to find concrete work that fast! I am booking concrete work for next spring because the company is booked solid . Which size bin is most popular up your way kevlar. In Morris they told me 40ish thousand bushel at brock. I like their bin except for the crapy lid!!! That lid sucks the big one! I sure didn’t feel like plunking down 110 thousand for that bin, maybe if I was younger I would have . I think my 19000 brock bin was around 53ish . I have to look in my books ! Least I filled it! Hopper bins have gone up incredibly ! Anybody who drives past my farm knows I like hoppers . No shoveling ! No shoveling ! But after last year the meridian bins almost doubled in one year. I think the hopper era is over now. Actually gsi and brock bins were almost the exact same price. Gsi was a few hundred less. Gsi seem like good bins and they have good sales staff .

Haven't you heard? Steel is dropping like crazy. Well except for the steel in anything you need, then that has not dropped that much.

I have no idea really what the average size of new bins would be around here. Was originally wanting to finish our row of 10,000 bins and moving the hopper bins back to set up with the dryer, but would have had to get them ordered in and would have been over $50,000 apiece. He said most 10,000’s are only put on hoppers now. I guess that’s a small bin for many people but they work nice for a farm our size. The bin I priced out was a 20,000 Westeel, with stairs, air, drag auger, and motors and temp and moisture cables, erected and all cement work done, all we would have to do is site prep, $78,000 + taxes. I might call around for a few more quotes but imagine they are all about the same.

Gsi bins That price seems high but things change !🤷♂️ My bin didn’t have the stairs or the moisture cables . 7.5 hp motors .

we like hopper bins also. Freight is cheap on the hoppers as we have 4 big manufacturers of them within 20 minutes of us

I think I’ll keep shopping around, sounds like there’s better deals out there maybe. Those hoppers are cheaper than the 10,000 flats I asked about. I was talking with Wallgrain, assumed they might have the best price. Are any brands better than others? We’ve just always put up Westeel just because, no real reason, guess to keep them all looking the same. See GSI makes a 1.2 million bushel bin, maybe one and done? lol

One farm put up some 33’ bins on hoppers this fall. The shop that built them put a 24’ cone beside them and it looked like a toy compared to the 33’

We just got a quote on a 4812 GSI, it was around 162 grand but that's a pretty big bin, 72000 bushels I think.
Had a couple 7500 bushel concept hoppers quoted too, those are about 45k with a skid and about 40 without.

Bin prices always seem stupid expensive ... until you check again in a couple years. Never fails, they're always going up.
