This isn't meant to poke you guys in the "flood" areas...

Don't know how many of them are true. Seed in the dust and bins will bust hasn't worked out for last few years.
I tell the kids we have an old saying on the farm here - if it hurts, stop doing it that way. That one tends to hold up pretty well over the test of time.

Seed in the mud and your crop is a dud

The seed in the dust one has worked great for me many times, never saw a deep planted crop exceed expectations.
One that isn't farming specific but seems to work for weather: Red sky at night, a sailor's delight. Red sky in the morning, a sailor's warning!
Two common ones that probably didn't work for grain marketing over the last year: A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush. You won't go broke taking a profit.

If you find yourself in a hole, the first thing to do is to stop digging.

This one I'm not sure if it's a farmer saying but I'd like to think it is :
If you don't have time to go fishing, it's time to go fishing!

Dad always said that the ground gets harder as you get older.
Quite true this year trying to work on the drill!
