Well as I approached the hyway on my way to town I'm like WTF is this shit on the road...straddled it and carried on, swung wide coming home...well been a while since I had this. About ten years ago is was a quarter mile south in the middle of the gravel and had the paper towel stuck in the top... I've pissed off the battery box of the old KW out in the bush or on the ice while still rolling and done other things more countless times that I can ever remember in snow banks ditches or the bush and yea even the off the side of shoulder...but not once ever did I shit in the middle of the road for everyone else to drive thru, some people are just disgusting IMO Even the booze bottle and the roll of asswipe got left as well View AttachmentView AttachmentIs there a McDonalds within 10 miles of you? That could explain this. I always said I should open up a pay toilette 10 miles north of Brandon, anyone who eats there gets about 5 miles out, their guts start to gurgle, by mile 10 your ass is about to explode.

I always said I should open up a pay toilette 10 miles north of Brandon, anyone who eats there gets about 5 miles out, their guts start to gurgle, by mile 10 your ass is about to explode. I wish it was that simple. Nope I'm pretty much in the middle of nowhere really. Problem is the secondary that runs past me is a connector for the Ft Mac traffic cutting across to the main Ft Mac hyway. Ever since the pile got left in the middle of the road I have referred to my road as the Ft Mac Shithouse...if they aren't driving down and turning around on my road to do their business, its to drop off garbage, unwanted pets both dead and alive, and other undesirable items. Funny how prickly they all get if I happen along and confront them, just like Greta, how dare I lol I don't clean up the garbage anymore, let the municipality deal with now I'm done. Road only goes to the south off hyway and there is about a quarter mile of muskeg at first, so thats why they feel comfortable stopping on it repeatedly. Been a few that got stuck turning around...I simply tell them to call a tow truck. Had one that got quite mouthy at that point standing outside my front door. He retreated to the road quick like a bunny when I stepped on to the porch lol

Driveway for my bull pen is on a main highway exactly 10 miles from the 3 closest towns either direction. Apparently that is the magic number because it is a weekly drop zone with occasional multiples. Someday I'm going to put up a sign with a notebook in a weather tight case asking to date, initial and give home town and state. Worst I've ever found was a big pile of crap with wipes, 2 cans of drank nasty ass beer, a used condom and a pair of vomited on pants. That had to be an interesting night. This is a little awkward, but could you mail my pants back to me? Um... no. They fit just fine.

Ok, the pants jokes made my morning. With the baler tire, yeah tons of fun. Balers are heavier than they look lol. I like the idea of using the 3pt hitch to lift, unfortunately when I had a tire decide to take an early retirement the tractor with the 3pt hitch was hooked to the baler. Of course none of my jacks that fit under a lifting spot are strong enough. So a bit frustrated and pissed off, I sat on the tail gate and was thinking of a better way. Look up, and I see smoke to the west. Meh go for a drive and clear my head. Be dammed if I didn't forget to close the tailgate on the truck with the tire I stole off the haybine. Extra jacks, blocks, milwaukee impact, sockets all sitting in the rim. Heading to see what is burning and see a black thing launch in my rear view mirror. Oh shit.... Don't want to hit the brakes too soon as I don't know where that bastard is going to land. Seen the landing and if that sucker didn't fly another 30 feet in the air on the second bounce. And no it couldn't land so it would stay put, rolls 100 yards into a combined wheat field. Still not really worried about the tire, tools! Milwaukee impact sitting in the middle of the road, jack on the left, jack on the right, sockets everywhere. Grab th impact, it still works nothing broken. Whew. Good thing I was only going 50k or so. Spent the next 45 minutes pick crap off the road and field. By time I was done the fire was out and short 3 sockets. Ok time to go home before anyone sees me or what happened. Side note 14lx16 is 475 bucks in a firestone, had to wait on it too.

Had the back wheel come off the combine a few years ago. Combining along and header jumps up severely. Wtf. Back combine up and hit something again. Get out and rear wheel sitting behind drive wheel. Have custom made wheels on back for larger rubber and reused the original ih flange nuts to install. Looks like they came loose over time and a few studs broke then wheel let go. New wheels have a small chamfer in the holes so sent wife into Regina for studs and nuts from Fyfe parts while I got it all squared away in the field. Was going again in a couple hours with a lesson learned. Though I still don't know why ih nuts work on stock wheels but came loose on New wheels. Checked the other side and were loose too. This was a couple years after installing the wheels.
I also learned you can put a skunk through a combine. Was going around a slough this fall and darn near plugged the combine. Smelled skunk too. Got out and looked but found no evidence of a dead skunk. Was out there last week and the straw pile behind the combine where I stopped had sifted in the wind and saw the body.

And some bounce dryer sheets, neighbor picked up a skunk a few years ago on a conventional. Nothing left, just stink for days. Redekop did a good job that day.

We used to put one through almost every year it seems, but havenโt for a couple years now. Back when we had TRโs it sure made a grunt, newer machines mostly just get the smell. Have a lot more rabbits this year for some reason, never seen one for quite a few years, hawks must enjoy harvest season, follow the combine getting anything that moves. Like to see the mice get picked off, feel bad for the rabbits.

I like when the hawks attack the seagulls for the mice. Makes for good entertainment.
Lots of rabbits here this year also. They are still brown so snow might be a ways off yet

My neighbor is a forage consultant for whatever company it is he works for. Showed me a picture when he was helping me chop of one of his clients that snagged a 800 lbs bear in their chopper head. At least skunks go through!

I enjoy the meat and have no issues with hunting, however I have zero interest in it myself. I don't let anyone go after my wild rabbits or chickens, I like having them around, rabbits are not that common but for so many years there was virtually none. The other one I won't let anyone hunt and that is cow moose. So many times I have seen where the cow gets taken out, and the calf or calves end up starving to death before spring. Its unfortunate they won't come around much like deer do, but I have seen moose calves at the silage bunks occasionally out back, but even if I leave bales out for them, without momma they just never seem to make it, so I do what I can to look out for them. If they winter with mom, most survive, without her nine out of ten don't make it. Bear and coyotes get regularly used for target practice. Have a couple trappers snaring coyotes all winter too.
