I use an old deere 8440 with 12ft blade as my main yard cleaner, I have an 84" snowblower for my bidi. I still think there has to be a better more efficient way.
The 8440 is my first choice after a snow, but is inefficient, im continually trying to clean up ridges left behind. The blower is OK for some areas, but my yard is sloped, and I like to put all my snow on the downhill side of my yard, and its too far to blow, then reflow to get it all there.
I have a versatile 190 mfwd with a 3895 loader and I'm wondering if a snow blade, or degelman speedblade on the loader tractor might be better. Just wondering what you guys use, and what you've found to be the best.

this is what we use. Works good for around the yard and such. Can move a lot of snow in a hurry. I think a speed blade would be pretty nice

Blower is the best if you can get it to the proper spot in one blow, blower doesn't leave the ridges that make it twice as bad next time. I've used loader and blade, faster but end up doing multiple passes for the dribbles out the side. I know someone who has a speedblade on a Bi-di(TV140 I think) and absolutely loves it. I'm thinking that speedblade would be so versatile, but no personal experience.

In past conversations about this topic, it seems what works for one don't always work for another, simply due to factors like where the snow needs to end up, as in limiting drifting and spring run off, how much you need to move and how often, how much drifting you are at risk of, and what one is willing to spend on a dedicated attachment or machine specifically for snow.
IMO you can't beat a wheel loader. Even with a standard 8 foot bucket, you can move a lot of snow fast simply pushing. So easy to back blade away from buildings ect too. Use some planning and do it so on longer pushes you use the snow itself to keep several yards in front of the machine, you can quickly get to where you are spinning out even chained up due to the amount of material in front of you. A wheel loader also gives you speed, up to 10MPH both ways, visibility and the ability to pile it as high as the machine can lift. And you also have a machine that you can use for a multitude of other purposes as well. But again, it depends on your operation. Ever since I got my old 544B Deere, I have never put the dozer on the tractor since, 10 footer on a 2WD with chains. Can plow out the yard and more with the loader in half the time it took with the dozer and I can put the snow where I want it with limited ridges left along the edges where it matters. I also have a V plow I chain on the bucket as well if I need to plow somewhere to drive across fields or such. With it being 4WD and always chained up I'll go places with that loader even if the blade was on the MFWD couldn't.
I even use it to clean the heavy snows out of much of my handling facilities and corrals, as long as the alleys are over 8 feet wide, I'm good to go, saves a lot of work I used to do with a small snowblower, just use one of them now for the small areas around the squeeze ect.

We use a 12 foot blade I think it is on the front of our front wheel assist, works really good for us as we have long and open areas to push. I can angle the blade and get most of the yard done without having to get out to switch blade angles, that's a project that needs to get done at some point. I can just go around and around then only have to push a few of the points at the end. Probably travel 7-8 mph. Just need to make a point of pushing it back far enough at the start of the winter. Can push up piles close to 6 feet high. Albertabuck is right, nothing beats a loader for pushing snow. Spent many years running loaders and pushing snow with them, still help out a friend some times. The last few years have used loaders with the snow pusher blades on them, probably makes them 3x faster yet, especially doing driveways in town, drive up to house/garage back up once and done. Only downfall is if it gets packed down they won't scrape down to the ground. I have seen these blades bolted onto the front end loaders of tractors, I guess if you are really careful that would be ok, but I have my doubts that the arms can withstand too much of the side torque that a wide blade would apply, especially if you hit something, and we all know that happens!!! I had a 920 Cat on two wheels one time when I smacked a curb stop in a parking lot. Me and my two bosses at the time would do parking lots with 3 loaders with the buckets side by side, a 928 and 950 Cat. I had just got it wound up in 3rd gear when I hit the curb stop, I was the middle loader. Cut both shins open and hit both sides of my head on the ROPS of the loader!

The good lord put it there and the good lord will taketh away.
southern Saskatchewan doesn’t usually get a whole lot of snow and usually the wind blows it to Manitoba any way.

I have a boss v blade for the kubota rtv. It will move a decent amount of snow considering its size. Being able to put it into scoop mode makes it great for cleaning up after the tractor and loader. I am with tsipp though, I only move snow if I absolutely have too. Packing it with equipment, trucks is my preferred option.

I’m the opposite. I don’t like snow in the yard. Just enough to keep the gravel froze down to not scrape up when cleaning. I find it it’s not packed good enough the super b sinks in and is stuck all the time.

I use a 7800 JD FWA with a 10' blade. First year wasn't that great. After putting approximately 2' wings on each side, it works very well. The one side has a straight wing, the other side is angled slightly outward. It now pushes enough snow that traction is often an issue on a longer push. Wish the tractor had a left hand reverser, but a guy has to be content with what works.

We have a large yard, have to push snow a long ways to get it out of way. Have a degelman 18’ speed blade on a 8300 with 840 loader, probably have had it for 10 yrs. We love it. Works great cleaning up ridges etc. Only once we had a bad storm and couldn’t get threw banks and had to use the 8’ blower to open things up.
Would love a blade on a big 4wd, but mostly just cause I think it would be fun.

After this winter so far I could go for the 4wd.
Have a 12' Leon blade on the 7920 that works well. But this is the first year I've wished for a snow blower as well. Spent 8 hours Monday cleaning out my yard so I could get super Bs in. 48 hours of wind and snow blew the whole field into my yard I think. Then it snowed on Tuesday again, and today spent another 6 hours re-cleaning everything out. It's a bit hard to push the blade through the 4' drifts over my entire back machinery yard.

I have a blower and it is good for small areas where you can blow it in any direction, but for my bin yard which is long and can only blow one way most times it takes a long time. Used my fel bucket and then blower for the cleanup. Want to get a blade or a speedblade to replace the bucket.

Have an old MF44 with an 8' blade that I added quick attack box ends to carry more when I only have a couple inches to plow. They come off when the snwo is deep or bank are drifted up. And another mid 90's 60 hp diesel unit with a 7' blower that I will use as a last resort. Blade leaves ridges but is faster. All my bins are in my yard and I am not a big farmer so this set up works....but I would really like one with a cab. some days you get pretty frosty. lol
