LOL Yeah that's gotta be cptusa! Hard to beat the tractor that coughed four engines out onto the ground! That is some effort!

Aussie tractor @ 6.41 Plum crazy Shit I just saw that. Looks like some kinda weight block malfunction. Broke the sled chassis clean in half when it hit the front stoppers. Driver would have been toast if it had carried on.

I have a 98 model. Been driving Hilux's for 33 years. Hilux's don't have efficient engines (Typical Toyota) nor do they handle or ride well, but man are they reliable, durable, low running cost vehicles, apart from fuel mileage.

They must be tough. I've noticed for years Rebels over throwing a Government somewhere always use a Toyota with a machine gun mounted in the back. Not likely they are seeing much preventative maintenance.

Well I enjoy my Indian super chief limited so much this year I went and ordered a Springfield Dark Horse. I wanted the hard saddle bags and the full vintage fenders. She will be a beauty in quartz grey! Apparently order times have improved a lot over last year and this year the dealership actually needed a deposit . Last year no deposit was needed as my pre-order was one of many of the same bike. Sales must be down a bit allowing a catch up in production.
What a rush you get from the thunder stroke 116 on the open road! Next thing on the bucket list is a condo and carrying trailer to go down south.
Here is a video of how my 2023 springfield Darkhorse will look like! I ordered it at Headingley Sports shop.

So tossing around the idea of getting a snowmobile. Would be old, would be cheap, would probably be more trouble than it's worth but... My question is why do I see so many that have rebuilt or seized or otherwise not running engines? Many with less than 3000k on them all different ages and brands. Are they just junk or do a large percentage of snowmobile owners lack intelligence when it comes to operating them? Anything in particular to look for or stay away from? Just want something to fool around on as we usually don't have enough snow to use on a regular basis.

Just want something to fool around on as we usually don't have enough snow to use on a regular basis. What era of sled are you thinking? There have been some duds along the way in regards to engine quality, most brands have had one or two along the way. My dad and I have run Yamaha for many years, 10’s of thousands of miles and the only engine I had to rebuild was my fault for trying to start one once that mice had packed the air breather full. Polaris had issues with the earlier XLT’s because of oil supply issues, and some of the 800’s just a few years back had unreliable engines, every one that I know of around here were rebuilt, sometimes more than once. Most of the issues I believe are driver abuse, but not always. I had a Yamaha 600 Venture that had around 19,000 kms when I sold it and the last I heard it was at 25,000 and still hadn’t been touched, and when I owned it I made my own trail most of the time, never on groomed trails. Like anything maintenance pays. The Yamaha 4 stroke seems to be bulletproof, but I find them heavy and hard to handle, so I went back to an older 2 stroke Yamaha. They will all break down sometime or another. Snowmobiling has become an expensive hobby.

Was thinking something 20ish years old. Lots out there with under 3000k for under 3g that still look decent in the pictures. Not looking for a mountain sled just something decent for around the farm and the lake. Mostly for my wife? Went once 20 years ago and she had fun.

I blame the gas. When i was a boy we had an Alleuete. Sat outside in direct sunlight all summer. No cover. Never drained the fuel. In th fall we took out spark plugs and dumped in some gas. And away we went. Now I have to clean carbs every fall or it won’t run decently. Last year it actually ran okay in the fall so I didn’t clean the carb but then I wrecked one cylinder because that carb was slightly plugged making that cylinder run lean.
