well have been looking for years for a 1967-1972 Chevy truck to do a fun restore . I love the look of these trucks and brings me back in time to when I was a kid ! I found a partially restored 67 truck with a wood grain box. my plan is to save up some bucks to transform it similar to the picture ! but in the mean time it’s in good shape and a good daily driver! hey thanks northern farmer for the advice!!! only thing is the wife is not happy with my expensive hobbies! lol . I am a little worried she going to buy a 5000 dollar pair of high heals !!!! it’s a 350 feul injected 4 speed on the floor . Paint is 8 years old. duel exhaust . And has the digital dash . least now I have a canvas to work on now instead of browsing the internet and wishing for a truck .!! hey any of you guys got restoration car or pick up projects going? Have I got a deal for you!!!! lol. We have an old GMC of that vintage but it’s in rough rough shape might be able to salvage a radio knob or the key possibly!

Dad had 2 69 chev c10 for farm trucks. Got my first ticket for excessive noise, burning the tires at lunch time at school when I was 16. I think it had a 327 in it. Off duty cop was shingling his house and saw me out on the old highway by Colonsay!

Canola margins are not as razor thin as you are sayingwith purchases like that. It helped selling the entire crop off the combine for an average of 18 plus protected with call options. Call options added another .75 cents to the price . I cashed in the call options last year July. And selling a good amount this year for 16.75 new crop 24 .Now it’s wait and see if canola can rebound . June or july might be the next key months to sell the rest. It’s possible 17 might be too low . I don’t know . I didn’t pay much for the truck hard rock ! 19 grand cdn . Basically one tandem trailer load of canola ! After my heart attack , last fall I decided I am not putting all My money back into the farm . That’s what I did when I was younger . Yes if I would have waited to sell now I would have left 6 dollars on the table . For me that would have been 140 grand less . It’s amazing how in just a few months you can go from a decent price to razor thin prices . I hope for all farmers it bounced back soon !

One of the best videos on youtube, reminds me of the good old days when we would buy a car for $500 and drive it until the wheels fell off...ha ha

One of the best videos on youtube, reminds me of the good old days when we would buy a car for $500 and drive it until the wheels fell off...ha ha That speed really could have had so many bad things happen and those trees being the proverbial brick wall !. I bought a truck cheap years ago from one of the neighbours and got it running, I believe it was a 1974 GM 3/4 ton automatic. Me and a crazy neighbour had a few moments in that and I jumped it a few times, its hard to explain the scene but basically beside the road where a creek runs through a big culvert so that created a lower level and a fairly steep hill going up it and then a plato that was landed on. The truck certainly showed its nose heavy attitude but I would accelerate up the hill and shoot off into the sky and then the nose would start coming down and oh did it land LOL. To say it had a slight tow out and negative camber angle is putting it mildly, I am sure the front bumper struck the ground as it came down. Was not the crazy fast speed but I expect I was somewhere at least 6 feet off the ground and without all that forward speed it lands HARD.

This is an article from an event that took place in early July in Death Valley in California. It might curb someones thought that its a great idea to drive in the hot desert area's of the south west USA. Interestingly when I went through there years ago in July and was 118F which is normal for that time of year, I had asked some other tourists in a car that had stopped at a point of interest as to where they were from ( because you have to be crazy to go to Death Valley in the middle of summer ! ) and they were from Germany. No idea what it is that gives German tourists the idea to go there but here is another example that didn't turn out so well. Can you imagine 128F on a motorcycle !

When bc set the Canadian high temperature record of 49°C me and 4 of my friends happened to be within an hour of it on a motorcycle/ hammocking trip. I think it was over 40 for the better part of a week. Definitely took some of the fun and ability to sleep away.. but still was a worthwhile trip photo and image hosting
