Where can a guy find one of these Westeel hopper to ground ladders? Can't seem to find any info about these on the Westeel site, but maybe a dealer can lead me in the right direction? They actually seem to work pretty slick, as long as they are not stupid expensive.

I remember our co-op had them a few years ago when we put up some westeel hoppers. I thought they seemed expensive for what you got and I need a telescopic ladder for my other bins so I didn’t get one. From the one i used at the neighbours I didn’t care for it that much and surprisingly it was heavier than it looked

I just made a bracket for mine that attaches to the bin legs and brought the solid ladder to within a step of ground level. Much cheaper and more solid.

Not sure what they cost, but it wouldn't be hard to make one yourself. We have them on 6 of our hoppers, with kids around it's nice to have ones you can raise up to keep them from climbing up them.

I seem to for some reason remember something legal happened after someone got hurt and they stopped selling them, maybe I'm wrong. I have a bunch of sections of the bolt on ladders that were never installed, not sure if they off Butler or Westeel, if a guy had such be easy enough to make some. Might be just as quick to make a short ladder out of some sucker rod or pipe too, be a lot more sturdy IMO.

Yeah, I remember something to that effect Ab. If I recall right it was with something one the press crimp/hole on the rungs. Makes a weak spot from my understanding. Regardless the first time I used those ladders I underestimated the weight (in a rush too). Good thing there was a bin beside me to stop it. I don't know what they are worth, but if I had buy I would look at a cheap aluminum ladder and some rebar.

Thanks guys. I think what I will do is just get half of an old aluminum extension ladder and bolt some hooks onto it so I can hang it off the bin ladders, should be much cheaper, lighter and safer then.
