Anybody using this and is it worth the money and time to set the combine . I rarely adjust my combines. Usually just the rotor speed at night . I have used the same settings year after year on my John Deere rotor combines . I just wondered if I am missing more than what my eye sees on the ground ?

With canola you will definitely be missing some, almost impossible to judge canola losses looking on the ground except when it's basically zero(seen this only a few times).
I have a bushel plus, it's okay but kinda pricey for what it is. I think they make them wider now but mine is not wide enough to get the full width of combine, so needs to be moved around to verify where losses are originating.
There are other brands too and you can always do the old fashioned way of throwing a pan as the machine drives by, but that usually involves getting dirty.
Once I dialed in my settings they usually don't change much year-to-year, so I often don't do drop tests now. Important to initially verify losses though, they can be substantial.

It seems stupidly priced for what amounts to some basic electronics you could compile off Amazon for $50 but it has payed for itself exponentially. Canola and oats can have some big mistakes slip by without it, wheat and beans you can count kernels easy enough.

I would be afraid the hired help would get bored and go home while I try and set the combine !!! Just kidding .
Actually , this situation happened on my 680 , I had some kind of concave setting code that flashed on my monitor. It changed the setting from 26 to 10 . Combine operator didn’t notice or tell me . Thank god it was just the concave and not the fan or sieve ! The electric codes got me thinking now to check settings all day . Everything on the combine has an electric control and computer . Not like the old days , hand turning the fan control in a jd 7720. I don’t think I had too much for cracks in my canola but I was shocked to see the combine adjust itself !
