The Claas Lexion I have is Autopilot equipped so has the hydraulic steering block from factory. Previous owner was running a JD system so there is JD bridge installed which talks via canbus I believe. Also has a wire harness where monitor was. Seems I just need a simple display, probably a 2600 and a receiver. Can a ITC receiver be used? I see something on Kijiji called an "extender" when searching itc. Is this something to overcome a JD built in life cycle termination idea? The 3000 and 6000 seem way beyond what I need for a gps signal.
Only want to do steering on waas, nothing more. I see Green Valley Equipment in Morden has some 2600s so would likely talk to them as a source for a 2600. I beleive I just need the Autotrak unlock which buying through a JD dealer should make that easy to verify it is ready to go with the unlock.
My next practical option seems a new FJ Dynamics from Christian. Would like to get an Outback S3 system running in the Claas and have a spare system for the sprayer tractor but that is looking to be an expensive option to go buy a steering wheel. Don't want to put in the Outback hydraulic block and doubt there is an option to have Outback directly operate the Claas hydraulic block.

Outback should run the claas hydraulic block. Our euro 780 came factory installed with a claas branded outback monitor in it. But who knows if something is different in it. All you should need is the 4 pin deutch connector to plug into the factory harness behind the seat. That’s where the JD bridge box plugs in.

I beleive a newer Outback will work like that, something like a Rebel would utilize canbus output. S3 does not have canbus output I beleive. Tried two Outback dealers so far, left messages to call me and got no call back because I was kicking around the idea of going new Outback if it led to an upgrade path for the sprayer tractor also. But kind of got turned off if it means I need to call multiple times. Tried calling Outback main number in spring and never got anywhere then too. So thinking if JD is simplest then I do that and worry about doing some upgrade on the sprayer S3 system when something craps out and I am forced to address it.
Seems JD is the simplest option and least expensive. Unless there are things I am missing like I need a $3500 receiver or yearly subscription fees to keep steering a combine on waas. If it is a $6000 JD used package I would likely go FJ Dynamics. I will talk with a JD dealer, just feeling out for stuff right now a dealer may not mention.

If the combine has the bridge box in it already the JD is plug and play. I would avoid the ITC with the extender on it. Works ok but isn’t great for the combine. Had it in our harrow tractor and it worked but would be perfect for a couple passes then would overlap or miss a bit. A used 3000 bubble aren’t that expensive.
We have a JD system sitting on our shelf we are thinking about putting into the machine to replace the outback system. It only runs on waas and has its moments also. Last year it had a hard time steering straight going west.

Got a 2600 and sf3000, installed it yesterday and was getting things setup sitting in the yard and figuring out how it works. Looks like a nice display to use. At the time I was just looking for steering, but getting familiar with the Claas I found it was quite lacking for anything like a yield monitor, sure there is some daily data but not much else. The 2600 has more of what I wanted so that is a bonus if it pulls data through the bridge. One thing I can't figure out is how to get it to display bu/ac instead of metric for the screen that I can configure 9 different data points. I have everything I can find set for imperial including the monitor, the Agra gps bridge and even set the 2600 location to USA - keeps giving me metric including header size. Haven't heard back from JD guy yet, maybe someone here knows. Doesn't seem to be an obvious setting for me to find. Combine is set for imperial also.
