RG 1100 with 100ft booms, 20" spacing and red hypro guardian air tips. Having trouble keeping 10gal/arce rate. Seems to jump up to 24-32gpa when I slow down below 10mph. Tip pressure sits at 40-45psi. Tried throttling back the yellow valve in the back and that helped a bit but it still hunts for the proper rate. Close down the valve more? Had yellow hypro guardian air tips on for 5-8gpa and it held rates just fine unless I slowed right down on corners. Tip pressure was up 60-70psi, probably could go to the next size bigger tip to drop that. 1st time with this sprayer so trying to get settings for rates dialed in, seems to have lots of variation in rates when slowing down.

If I remember right I have that valve about 1/2 closed for 10 gal/acre. I also set my monitor up so that the spray pressure will not drop below 20 psi so that I do not totally lose my spray pattern if I am forced to really show. Maybe your system settings will not let your pressure drop lower as you slow down.

I never mess with back valve. Mine is electric so full open or full closed.
What are you running for monitor?

Just from memory my valve is turned about 30 degrees down from vertical. I think only wide open for high rates like dribble banding. Mine actually is bang on except when it shuts down to one section on and it often then shows a rate failure and shuts down, this just started recently so I am wondering if something got changed or the flowmeter is giving up.
On my viper pro there is a setting for auto rate and one for manual, in manual it will hold a flow rate so slowing down would increase the GPA. Perhaps yours is set to manual not auto?
See if I can get a picture of that valve tomorrow, mine is a 120' boom though.

Could it be the flow meter sensor ?

This is where mine is at, although it would appear it should be closed unless you are going really fast.

Closed the yellow valve down more and the tip pressure drops to 23psi, pump pressure sits around 46psi.

Dropped my pwm min value to 80 and now it's working. Pump and tip pressure are 30psi so might up my water rate or change tips to blue.

I prefer the blue for 10 gallon work so I don’t have to drive as fast as still has decent pattern when I slow down. Most of our fields aren’t real flat or smooth. Can drive 9-13mph with them. I’m never in a hurry for spraying either big sprayer for our acres.

Upped my water to 12gpa with liberty. Works out good 1 drum/80a so no measuring and just do 80a batches. At 12gpa the reds are 45-60psi. 9-11mph. Most fields are cut up or hilly. Better to go a little slower and not have the booms in the dirt.

That’s exactly my thinking with using the blue. We got a 1600g tank so at 10 we can do a 1/4
