Anyone have any experience with drone sprayers? With the cost of new ground rigs the drone sprayer is perhaps not a bad option, or a couple together which one guy could service.
One real advantage would be ability to spray even when soil conditions don't permit wheeled sprayers to operate without making a mess.
Couple concerns would be the ability to spray next to field boundaries and sensitive crops? Or just the lower water volumes in general.
I have no doubt these things have a fit and will become more common, but don't want to be the first guy in...

What i am hearing are already quite a few out there. I have not seen one in my area. I agree with you, that if you hear the numbers it seems to make sense. You probably have to have 2 at the same time going and you probably have to buy a trailer and everything for it as well. I would like to know a "true" data how good of a spraying job are they really doing.

I have one. You will not get the acres they are claiming. 25 acres is all you’ll get out of it. Not 40 is what they claim. But I like it at least you can fill it watch it fly and sit down and have a beer. lol. I figure it would take 7 or 8 to keep up to a 120’ ground rig. The real challenge is getting set up with transport Canada.

Too bad 40 is not possible since most chemical is packed in 40 acre boxes. Maybe a drone the quarter the size of a spray plane could carry enough chem for a quarter. I hope they keep fine tuning this idea . I wonder when John Deere or case nh will get involved .

I did see this in the summer . Hi have a complete setup of 2 T-30 spray drones. The setup includes 6 batteries,2 charges,2 generators a 500 gallon water tank that pumps into a 265 gallon mixing tote. Also have two spreader for both of them that have never been used. The semi flat bed trailer is included also and willing to help get you started out with the drones.

Spray 1/2 mile there, and back fill and change battery. Repeat. Mathematically you could do 40 acres an hour, but it’s the refilling and moving down the field with tender unit that takes the time. Spraying drones will get better in time. You don’t want case or John Deere involved! We all bitch about equipment pricing now! I can imagine what it would cost to buy it through the mafia. Wow
