I see Bell is laying off about 4500 employees and selling many of their stations that are CTV. No noon news and possibly no 6 o’clock news and W5 is done as well. Is this a sign of the times because of the internet, or are people fed up with their fake news and propaganda? I believe it’s mostly the latter as I haven’t watched anything CTV or CBC in years because of the constant lies. No doubt the internet has taken away viewers as well. Many of these new podcasts giving the real news or the news that isn’t covered get more viewers in one podcast than the big news companies get in a week. I think the CBC will get its funding cut when the conservatives get in then they will be allowed to die their slow painful death that they deserve 🤞.
One thing I really miss is local news. If the CBC was funded to keep a news station in each moderately sized city and stuck to local news, nothing political, people might support the funding they get, instead they waste it on spotlighting the wonderful Liberals.

I think the writing is on the wall for awhile now . My friend works for a local paper and knows it might have 5 years left before they are gone . Nice thing with the net is you can decide what news is telling the truth ! MSM on tv is just an entertainment tool now.

Speaking of getting news from the internet, I’m watching Tucker Carlson’s interview with Putin.

Wouldn’t it be nice if programs like that were on tv? For many places, myself included, limited internet makes watching those podcasts very difficult. I just want to watch unbiased honest news.

You probably do this as I have to so I can watch youtube and not have it stall out nor suck up a vast amount of the monthly internet allowed and that is setting the quality down as low as it will go, certainly videos that it doesn't really matter how bad the video quality is I will set down to 144p and leave it as a smaller screen size so it doesn't look completely god awful.

I’m thinking of getting Starlink sometime soon, kids need it for school, and I’m getting frustrated taking forever to do something online that should only be seconds. I just use my phone for everything so when I tether to the computer it can get pretty bad sometimes, then sometimes it’s great, depending on how many people are using their phones in the area.

I know of one person that got star link not that long ago here ( there may be various others that have it, just not sure what most others do for internet ) and he raves about how vastly faster it is relative to the very slow internet they had through the local wifi tower that I get my internet from. I am in a dead zone that a cell phone will hardly work if at all, there was no possible way to get internet from a cell tower even with a booster. So yes I can relate as to why your looking at starlink and you should be able to set something up so that your parents can feed off of it as well assuming they use the internet. I am not familiar with it as per what one can access tv wise over that system, if it could take the place of satelite tv for example or not and be able to drop the price of a tv package for example to offset the costs of the starlink.

Just a FYI, Tucker Carlson's dad was a cia operative and he most likely is one too.
Today if you are going to understand what is going on you need to learn to put the bread crumbs together yourself...
