Have some wilt in one corn field again this year. Not bad as it showed up later in the season but enough that it will reduce the yield considerably in spots. Not like about 8 years ago when symptoms showed up in June and the yield was basically zero in the worst areas. I know it is a bacterial disease but my question is why can't it be treated with something like copper hydroxide? We use it in dry beans to help deal with bacterial blight, so why not in corn. If in a bad year I could preserve 50% of my potential yield even spending a couple hundred dollars an acre would likely be worth it.
