Boy does that thing have some crappy looking welds, clevises that don't line up, missing a driveshaft, lights aren't hooked up...
Gotta love a good rush job.

Haven't watched a video or seen a lot about it but my first impression was R&D designed the hood after a couple beers on a Friday night.
Looks don't pull, but come on.
EDIT: There are several women in the bohemian alps of Tama County, Iowa that look like they could pull a plow and probably could, but I think you guy's understand my comment.

I like the simplicity of his ideas. We once had a tractor like that made in Winnipeg! Versatile! Today , Versatile is not much different than any other tractor company. Is it priced under 750 000 dollars new.

To be honest I wouldnt say the welds are any different on the Versatile tractors. I still like fuel tanks mounted on the middle on both sides. My new to me 2015 9520r JD has the steel fuel tanks way up in the air over the back axle. At least they are steel, the newer version switched to plastic. Its a pain in the arse to fill up this deere and has only one fuel cap on the left side. Oh and than there is def! I didnt see a def tank on that BUD. Maybe I missed it? Maybe its because a cat engine is not designed to use def? Is that why they stopped using them in highway tractors?

I think that if a company produces under a certain number of units total they don’t have to abide by the emissions laws, or it used to be that way. I wish them well, I think they should be able to make it work, they seemed to have fairly good success in the past.

I was reading in the comments in one of the videos out about this tractor, and of course have all the naysayers from all the other brands running this tractor down and several of them saying that they wouldn’t spend money on this because it has no resale value. So this morning I looked up some for sale, the resale on these tractors blow the big manufacturers out of the water. By a lot.
Then of course people complaining about the cab. That’s something that’s always bugged me. For not a lot of work and minimal skills required, a guy can fix a cab up pretty nice and customized however you want it. I’ve always lived by the rule that if something isn’t how you like it, make it so you do like it.

This machine is not designed for the guy who trades off every 3 years. So trade in value is irrelevant. And it is not marketed to those people either. And so to Kevlar point, yes a guy tends to make their machines work best for them over the years vs what the manufacturer designed for a general application.
Pretty sure we will have people say they need room for a lunch cooler, fridge, toolbox, laptop, second person, and spare parts for the drill all within the cab. I don't have that kind of room in what I got now and so deal with that in other ways. Wouldn't go shopping for a different machine with an entirely different design principle just because of that either. Keep the dust out and some cool air blowing plus the machine doing what's it is designed to do for 20 years, then that is 99% of the way there.
If I am looking for something to be owned over 20,000 hours then that is why I am at the door. I like the big flat areas all around for getting up on the machine. Also the idea of them building in that 350-400hp range is pretty darn appealing. Manufacturers have stopped building small 4wd and left it to mfwd tractors. I would rather have a 275hp 4wd vs a 225 mfwd if they could be found anymore. And definitely a 350hp fwd vs 350 mfwd. But that is where size, access, service and repair come in because I am pretty sure that 20 years later I would rather be pulling wrenches on a 350hp Bud than a 350hp mfwd NH/Fendt/JD.
And, from a design standpoint, as said in video - they will be able to put on a wide variety of cabs. If the wiring is routed smartly then all you need to do is unplug harness, pull the cab mounts and put a different cab on that is rewired to interface with the machine. Not hard to do if the manufacturer maintains all the drawing and is custom building to begin with. Big manufacturers won't even attempt such an idea.
Lots of things a small manufacturer can do, and do it better.

I kinda wondered how outfitting with various cabs works. As a farmer 30 miles from the versatile plant here in Winnipeg I was very tempted to go red again before my Deere’s . I liked the idea of upgrading almost new for the same price as my 7 year Deere! I guess I was drawn to the ease of jd gps and how it marries up to my Deere disk drill. Oh and green paint of course. Limiting the amount of wires in the cab is really nice option so if big bud can have a inter grated Deere cab or what ever company it would be a huge selling feature. Obviously , the owner of big bud does not think artificial intelligence or robotic tractors will take over the market ! I don’t think do either! Who know what will happen 500 years from now. I wish I could talk tractors with my gramps! It would be so eye opening! I believe there was a big bud dealer in glenlea mb back in the 70 and eighties? I remember seeing a garden tractor parked on the rear axle of a big bud to show how big it was! I wonder if slip clutch remembered that!

I'm sorry but that was brutal watching him turn those pins. And at the end he says he's pretty sure they are close to the right size.?!? The bushings looked sloppy on the pins. Doesn't even look like he owns a micrometer. Doesn't get me too excited about the big buds.

Nice video, when a machinist says he’s pretty sure its very close he isn’t talking hairs he’s splitting them in 8.

Probably not like when someone like me says “pretty close “ it means it’ll fit with a big enough hammer.

One of my kids is a machinist, when he says it’s close it means a little different that what I mean is close, I framed houses for 20 years and close or right on is an 8th inch, unless I’m building stairs, an 8th inch out on 14 treads is way bad.
