Have an Ezee-on breaking disc with a center gang bearing out. Disc frame is stamped to torque the gangs to 3200ft lbs. Can torch the gang nut off and put a new bearing on. Does it need to be retorqued to the 3200ft lbs? Right now cant budge the gang nut with a snipe and loader bucket.

Is the loader bucket pushing the right way? 3200 ft-lbs! That seems crazy. That said, I have no experience with a breaking disc. On our regular heavy duty disc we used a 3 or 4 foot snipe and retorqued after a few hours. Never did use a torque wrench.

Aren't you supposed to have a gang nut wrench and a 12lb sledge hammer for that?

I always like to hit the end of the gang axle with a big sledge while somebody is tightening the nut also. Seems to keep it from loosening off better.

Gary, I was just thinking that as I read this and wondered if the room and safety factor allows to use a sledge hammer on the lower end of the snipe where it fits over I assume a very hefty wrench designed by Ezee-on. Applying the pressure you are with the loader and then hitting may give it the jolt it needs to break free. Also may need to heat some across one flat of the nut to expand it and again try the loader and hammer method. Years ago we had a Kello breaking disc and I don't know what the size nor the spec for torque was on those nuts but we used 8 foot long square pipe over the supplied wrenches and perhaps they were not tight enough either but we did get the nuts off.

You need a torque multiplier. The disk at the farm has a high torque rating on it.

Depending on where you are a hydraulic shop has machines to torque the hydraulic cylinder components to up to 15000, maybe they can do your disk as well?

Have the gang nut wrench but its a center gang so only 11" of room to swing a hammer. Can drop the whole gang off but wondering about retightening. Local machine shop said they have done lots but just use a 8ft snipe and then hope for the best.

I've used a 3 - 4ft length of heavy 2inch square tubing to reach the gang nut wrench in a tight spot. Might need a trusting assistant to hold it while you swing the sledge hammer, ha. Edit: Also don't forget that sometimes you have to hit to tighten once or twice and then it'll loosen off easier. I say sometimes 'cause sometimes that doesn't work either, 🤷♂️.
