I am having severe leaking on a canvas charlyn motor on my 722 swather, have done a seal change but I am now thinking there is a problem with the hydraulic control, it is on the double swath side so it reverses depending on the mode setting. I would like to switch it to manual foot controls as the electric is very problem prone for some reason, and of course it is intermittent.

Do you mean it's leaking internally (no torque) or that it's still leaking out the shaft after changing the seal? Does this header have a cylinder to move the deck or a motor that drives a rack?

It spews out past the shaft, which makes me wonder if it is dead headed? It has a hydraulic cylinder to move the deck, it seems to default to the double swath position. I also have a moisture problem in the hydraulic oil, can't figure out how it gets in, has to be the reservoir I would think, but had it off and couldn't see any place for it to get in, which may tie in to a valve being stuck or otherwise messed up.

I don't know that much about hydraulic motors. But I don't think the shaft seal is designed to hold that much pressure, maybe 300 psi. Inside the orbit motor is a rotary valve which times the high pressure oil into the lobes of the orbit rotor. It might be worn out and leaking internally. If it were me I'd just replace the motor at this point.
