Something I never figured out on the proboards forum is how to quote someone who already quoted someone else, but just quote the person you mean to quote? Hope that made sense...
Also when quoting if you do not type in your own area first and accidentally click on the quoted text you can not get the cursor back on your own area.
Also quoting multiple posts at once.
Perhaps this stuff isn't possible, and that's fine....but figured if someone else knows the tricks they could share.

Can’t help with most of that but I know what you mean. The only way I have figured out how to get the cursor out of the quoted text is to go back out and then do it again.

I know what you mean SW, and I am sure it is possible. I will figure it out this evening and let you know.

Multiquoting- Hit the gear icon and select the first post you wish to quote. Continue to do that if you wish to quote more than 2 replies. When you reach the last reply you want to quote hot the quote button as usual. It should bring up all the selected posts and the quoted one. Also added a blue box around the quotes, hopefully that helps to distinguish between quotes.

Apparently it automatically puts the quotes in chronological order, because I selected these two the other way. I'm gonna experiment trying to delete my and kevlar's embedded posts out of yours now and see what happens. Edit: Looks like even if you delete all but the gray box it still shows that "xxxx" said like shown about my previous embedded post there. With kevlars I did the same but kept going and hit enter and it swallowed up beerwisers lower text and what you see here happened. Might not be a way to fully remove embedded quotes...

I just attempted to quote just your edit SWMan. Deleted everything between your sq bracket and your edit. A bit of a pain but if this works, 🤷♂️.
