We have been playing around with a Morris Quantum air drill and 9650 ict cart for the past two years and have love the crops it grows. Who's all running these drills? Don't want another talk about the "Morris" corperation just want to hear about the Equipment.

What spacing is it? And how are you liking the tank? Kinda thought my next tank might be a Morris, they look to have a pretty simple sectional control and I like the meter roll style.

We have a paired row 12 inch spaced machine. Section control is simple and metering is very good. We have had issues with sections not working and we are thinking the springs behind the gears fell out. There is an update bracket that will not allow springs to move and they will be installed this spring. We used the flexicoil tanks for 20 something years so this is a big upgrade. The new meters are spiraled so crop flow is better and no meter roll changes per products as you just set the gap. Its all stainless meters and manifolds so that has me pumped. The way they put the product into the bottom pipes has me abit concerned as it flows around the top manifold pipe. But a pull of the handle once a day to make sure its clean should solve any buildup. We are not sure if its an issue but better safe than sorry. We do have dual fans on the 9650 and we found out the hard way that twin pumps are needed cause the shanks can starve the fan motors if you run high rpms and dont have the shank speed set low enough on a single hyflow pump tractor. I will be replacing my other drill with another Morris because we really thought the crops were better with the Morris then our 5000 flexicoils. We did have blockage on that drill but it was set for canola low flow. This was a new operator and I had set it for canola the prior year and forgot to switch it back. grr. lol So we had to fix a few fields. Hopefully we learned from our mistakes and know what to look for now. For the money you sure cant go wrong with a Morris.

There’s a new Morris by the overpass on the east end of lloydminster. If I can figure how to post photos I’d share them.

This drill ended up at a salvage yard and a friend ended up buying it. We ended up buying it from him as a parts drill. Just abit scared of the parts supply in this crazy world .
