What model & year was the magnum that burnt? 2011 Magnum 290. Unable to pin point exact point of origin but it start on the right hand side under the cab/exhaust area.

Neighbors Magnum did that on a nearby road a few years back, seems they are pre-disposed to doing that. I had a Steiger catch fire near the exhaust on a day so foggy you couldn't see 300 yards, fortunately my thermos and a nearby ditch were enough to put that out. It had started near the exhaust in some built up straw and dirt. CNH must run some pretty warm exhaust temps. Yesterday we had some friends over and I had turned on the pellet grill to warm up just before they got here. Well it turns out when you cook like 5 briskets in a row and then fire it up to steak temperature the accumulated grease flares up. My buddy comes in and said "your BBQ is on fire" to which I replied "it normally smokes so no problem". When I went out with the steaks it had shut down from over-temp and some paint was burnt off the inside... Still working though. 8-)

Anyone know how to adjust seat swivel stops? It rotates to far right and hits the plastic on the right side of the cab. Dad got hus fingers in between the arm rest and plastic and said it didn't feel the best.

Like your new tractor so far? Or has your dad let you sit in it yet?

You take the swivel lever and press it down and leave it there permanently. ha ha I hate swivel seats personally, but as I get older and the neck doesn't rotate like it used to I can understand why the old guys might need it.

SWMan- I love the swivel seats but I don't bend well. I wish seats in sprayer and combine swivel.
Kevlar- I like the machine. There's things I like better on it and things I don't. It's by far the smoothest riding tractor I've owned and I do like the CVT. The turning radius is terrible compared to the magnum, would need to remove fenders to tighten it up. The cup holder sucks. Who uses a square cup holder?
All other complaints are overcomable and are simply due to habits of operating magnums for years.

Do you have the spring loaded fenders? If so they shouldn't be a limiting factor and make it easier to work on. On my Challenger FWA I flipped my front tires side for side and got a way better turning radius too, but you may have duals.

By flipping the tires side to side did you widen the tread width and then adjust the steering stops to get more steering angle?

Yes I did so there was more outward dish. I could then adjust the stops to make it a really good turning tractor, it was very poor before. Now the fronts are just about as wide as the rears. I think we just adjusted the fender brackets.
On my new Massey 5711 it had no front fenders so I ordered some. They had both fixed and spring loaded ones. Much more $$$ for the spring loaded ones but with a loader especially it will keep the turning radius down.

Does tightening the turning radius not affect the longevity of all the front end components?

Swman that sounds like what we sed to do with the original magnums. If you didn't need them on 30" rows you could set the fronts wide and turn tight. The front tires would basically run between the rear duals.
Kevlar, I'd bet a tighter turning radius does stress certain front end components like the uv joints but I don't worry about it since your not under load during max turn anyway. I think the xtra stress is minimized.

How’s your new tractor been working for you? Getting many hours on it?

Probably around 75 hours on it. Will do grain cart and tillage this fall. Dad has put 95% of the hours on it. It is an unconfirmed rumor but apparently he told one of his buddies that it's really pretty nice to run. That info will not get relayed to me.
From the little I've ran it, it is the smoothest ride by far I've ever had in a tractor.
