How concerning is this topic of wealth tax going to impact farming families? If our current prime minister gets his way and joins with the NDP party and push thru this tax what will be the end result.
This tax really irritates the hell out of me because our land base is basically our retirement. While others have pensions from companies or federal governments , our farms should not be treated different.
I dont feel it should be our penalty to pay more tax because of smart investing and hard work which built up good assets. It was our own blood, sweat and tears which resulted in wealth.
The NDP want to tax billionaires , however if the liberals and NDP get in bed together there definition of billionaire may change to 1 million in assets. This will almost certainly affect every farm family.
They also hinted at decreasing the capital gains exemption.
This very very bad stuff those parties are talking and will further divide the west from the country.
