Anyone else not getting NH3 in a timely manner? I get 2 tanks a day, every other day. Taking forever to do 500 acres. Ive never gone this late in the year.

How many gallons is your wagon and what rate are you applying. I finished up with NH3 quite a while ago now on Oct 13th ( ground would be frozen here now anyway ) and at that time the only problem was getting filled when I was almost done due to too many units firing up for the amount of trucks they had hired third party to haul and that seems to have been the theme in the last years, no competition either so get hosed on the price. Since I was renting a wagon and they had some 3500 gal wagons, at least I can get some acres covered in a fill and yes I will see if they can over fill it if I am going right away ( that is entirely up to the trucker to say yes or no to ) . So two fills a day is all I needed anyway and then near the end was getting one fill a day but worked out fine anyway.

Guy's just starting to pull smoke here. Talk of potential shortages but more so next spring. Booked mine for $790/ton, now $1300/ton. Between that and P & K prices I think we are going to see a decent cut in corn acres. This is setting the stage for a very interesting 2022. This corn market could really light up again.

My tanks are 6800 lbs actual N. Each % is 85 lbs. What’s happening is when the farmers that usually put in fert in the spring noticed the prices increasing, they are applying now before prices go higher. This puts a strain on the supply chain. Granular price has also doubled here this fall.

Doubled ain't bad, she's all tripled here from last year. Has more to do with $6-7 corn then supply issues.

I keep hearing the product is there but the trucks and ability to load them quickly is not.
I know before the last rain there was a line of over 30 trucks at Bloom.
I've got about 230 acres left. Didn't get any today.

This is very concerning but I have noticed some of the larger privately owned retailers are more equipped and plan better for this fall and for next spring. Our local retailer is managed pretty well and has an excellent owner team and great manager. I dont get that feeling from the local Viterra and other larger companies near by. The system is not perfect but staying loyal to one company in hard times really has its advantages. Do most guys who put NH3 down own there own tanks? With the safety laws now in place how much is a safety on a nh3 tank and does it make sense to own two tanks for your own use? I always rent.

It sounded like the shortage at nutrien anyway was due to Paul's hauling not being able to keep/get truck drivers.

I don't think anyone here owns their own nurse tanks, as mentioned the regulations are killers.

Local guy told me that they kinda got caught with their pants down thinking not much would be going on cause of the dry conditions. Plants were shut down for upgrades and maintenance. Sounds like they are going now.

We own one tank and rent one from the supplier to switch off.
Until a year or two ago the supplier always took care of our tank but not lately. Forget what the costs were to safety it.
