Most Polaris don’t get many more miles than that! Hard to when they are always sitting in a repair shop!! 😂

Haha. Yeah I asked him why he went back to triple. He said price was right. He fixes sleds, boats, any recreational toys on the side. Bought this from a guy who brought it to him to fix an idling issue. Ended up buying it.

We’re hearing lots of media about the crap yields in the northern US states & Canada for canola & wheat. So how bad are the yields? Is it widespread or do some areas have near to average yields?
Also Rod , urban consumers are now complaining about the high cost of bread now due to high grain prices. I always lower my eyebrows when I hear people complain about bread prices yet you never hear people complain about entertainment products that much.

I always lower my eyebrows when I hear people complain about bread prices yet you never hear people complain about entertainment products that much. Strange that isn't it! Producers get the rough end of the pineapple just about every other day with grain prices & input costs, whereas consumers have a constantly plentiful & in relative terms, cheap as its ever been .... food! And they now whine about a few cents increase in basic foods! I'll bet my left nut that when there's a good crop & good supply of wheat again .... the price of wheat will fall faster than a brides knickers ..... & the price of bread will not come down one iota!

The real question is, if the price of wheat doubles, how much more does a loaf of bread cost to produce? Would there be 1/60 of a bushel in a loaf? Math is easy at 1/100. $20 wheat would equal 20 cents in a loaf and up from 10 cents if wheat was $10 previously. Pretty sure a consumer can afford a 10c price increase on their loaf of bread. Or am I to beleive that is the breaking point for their daily cost to live.
But that isn't what happens, now is it. And that is not what the consumer is told either.

Just came in from starting my peas. Just by acres and what is in the truck, I would say 15 bus/ac. Far cry from the 40-50 bus/acre we have been used to some years.

I gotta ask why a 440 Jcalder? There was a 600 available in that vintage if I am not mistaken. We are definitely due for a higher snowfall winter, it's been awhile. Nostalgia. The 1997/98 XCR 440 were probably the best Sno-X machines back then. I had a 97 from 1998 until 2002. The guy I sold it to still has it and it just sits in his shed, I've tried buying it back many times but no dice. Really the 1997 XCR 440 and RMK 700 were the first two sleds with the USA-built engines. Up until then Polaris always used Fuji engines and the 440 was very fast for it's time. The 97 600's woulda been triples, the only triple I've ever wanted in an 03 XCR 800 and those are super rare too. I got my paws on a 98. My original one was a 97. So I'm gonna keep pestering that guy who has my old one. I still want it back. Haha. The one in the truck box is from back in November of 02 when I brought it away. The one in my shop is the 98 I got a few weeks ago. Because they were race sleds they are quite hard to find in good shape.

I was going to show you a picture of the kind of sled you Polaris guys should buy, but then I realized you wouldn't recognize it , so I took a picture from an angle that might be more recognizable to you.

My first sled was an 80 Enticer 250, one day it'll be my kid's sled cuz we still have it. That thing has been bulletproof for longer than I've been alive. Most recent Yamaha I've ridden would be an 03 RX1 and I agree, it was way faster than the Pro-X 600 I had at the time.

Brother in law bought this last year. 1100 miles. LOVE the sound of a triple. My son bought a '95 600RMK when he was 14. Worked all summer the earn the $2000. Sled had about 6000 miles on it, he rode it to about 8500 miles then sold it to buy a new 700 Dragon. That RMK never missed beat but the friend he sold it to killed it in less than a season. Not the fault of the sled, their place is where equipment goes to die. They wreck everything. Son is riding a '15 800 Assault now.I still have my wifes '97 Z440, my '99 Powder special 600EFI ( that I snow checked), a '94 Cheetah 340, an '01 600ZR EFI and my '14 summit 800. Sion still has his Dragon and a '99 Powder special 600 EFI. I get the desire for a 440, even with these MUCH more powerful machines, my wife Z440 is a hoot to ride (as long as the snow is not too deep).
