Hi guys, the guys who seed Inca do you see more splits than say Meadow peas, we sure are noticing that, running S680

Yes they are bad for splits. But everybody I talk to this year says the peas are harder to keep from splitting.

I had the rotor down to 250 and concave to 40,darn peas were still splitting,we had Meadow peas till last year, never had splits higher than .5%

Seed grower around here won’t grow Inca anymore cause of splits. The outside seed coat was really brittle on them also. Sometimes there isn’t much you can do with peas except wait for a rain. Which we never do.

What type of cancave do you use. large wire or round bar. Actually for this reason some guys prefer the s670 without the rethresher.

i noticed the Howard concaves in our 1 machine was harder splitting the meadows than mine with just factory large wire concaves in it, this yr the crops being so stressed and brittle I don't think there was much a guy coulda done
