We are running a 3320 with the new style mid row banders. Bought the drill used 3 years ago so not exact but rough estimate banders have around 35000 acres on them and bearings have not been changed. Had two go out at the tail end of seeding last year and just wondering when others have decided to change them out? Always go through them and tighten any loose ones at start of season and grease em then grease again halfway through. These ones aren’t near as bad to deal with if they do go as the old style was but still a pain.

We have only ever changed as failed since we started using MRB. We grease them at the start of the year till grease comes out and again at the end till grease comes out the seals. Can’t remember the last time we did a bearing in season. Changed a few Before we started if they feel rough when checking them.

How many acres would u guess your mrb’s have covered Meskie? Was talking to a guy from Bourgault yesterday and he basically said the same as u. With the high speed hub they don’t have a recommended change interval just check over preseason and grease and go.

The 40’ drill would of had 20,000 acres. Our 47’ would of had 80,000 plus on it. We have a 65’ 3310 now with 25,000 on the Banders and I’m not sure if the guy we bought it from changed the bearing when he did the discs. It would have another 35,000 on it otherwise.
My uncle has a 3320 with the same MRB as you with 40,000 plus on the Banders. Don’t think he has ever changed more then a couple. That drill had a couple that got changed at the beginning of a season cause it had the seals go bad from some twine.

I have a 3310 going into its 12th season and about 75K ac on it. Changed wore out MRB discs spring 2019, bearings are still original. They get spring check-up and tighten any loose ones. Yeh I’ve lost a few bearings over the years mid season, but not to many. Were pretty faithful at a 50hr running time they get greased. Grant

Started going through the mrb’s today finally and looks like the dirt seals are toast on quite a few of them. The bad part is they have worn into the spindle a bit and damaged the spindle enough that it’s impossible to fit on the new seal. Anybody ever seen that before? We rebuilt our series 20’s when we were running them and the seals were bad on them too but the spindles were fine.

Can’t say we have ever had a seal go bad on our mrbs. Only changed them when doing bearings.
Was the seal spinning on the spindle?

When I pulled the inside bearing off the triple lip seal it fell apart in three or two separate pieces and yeah looks like the one piece was spinning on it causing the damage.
