Glad your drill showed up, mine is supposed to show up tomorrow and I feel it's time to ease into seeding with things beginning to warm up now(although chilly tonight again).
Interesting thing for me this week is that I ended up buying 8 cow/calf pairs. Never thought in my life I would own cows, still don't feel qualified but they are calving now and I get them in July so a bit more time to prepare. Kids are excited which is good, hopefully it stays that way when it's chore time...ha ha

Started seeding out one 1/4 of peas today. Everything seems to working properly with our new tank. Took a bit to get dad learned on it. Along with the typical first day stuff.

So how is the ground temp? Still cold as hell here, not much movement besides some heavy harrows. Trees are starting to pick up along with quack grasss. Another week before burn off IMO.

When does the bull arrive?? C'mon now, one thing at a time... Guy I bought them from says they used to calve in February and now in April and most of the issues they had are gone, so maybe I have a bit of time to get a bull too. Set up the pen today with the kids and probably in less than an hour we had a working pen with gates and all, those steel panels sure are slick!

About 9-10° at 2”. So pretty decent actually. We have seeded when it’s 2-3° Swman those steel panels are slick and easy to make pens and such with.

Apparently not too far from me a pivot was running next to the highway and for whatever reason the barracades failed and the pivot walked across the highway. And it looks like it got hit by a train as well. Must have happened at night. Anyway I've been told there are pieces of pivot on both sides of the highway and tracks right now. Nightmare scenario for the poor guy. And insult to injury after the wind storms destroyed hundreds of pivots back in February. I am sure he's not having a good week right now. Sorry I don't have any pictures. I haven't seen it myself. But that's worth some pictures. Hopefully for the owner, crisis plus time will yet equal humor.
EDIT: I don't think it crossed the highway, but it did cross the train tracks.

Damn, they can crawl up the ballast? Know nothing about irrigation.

I can't believe they sent this out during seeding again! They're going to have to send me a few reminders....

I'd have thought it would tip over, which it may have done, collapsing on the track. I dunno. I will try to find some pictures.

I agree gary, boy they sure want us to give up our freedoms now and than they have the audacity to send out an agricultural census at seeding. What a waste of money. I thought we already told the truidiot gang what we wanted in the new agristability program.
Well the census is b.s. in my books!I usually fill out I am farming 5500 acres of sugar beets and a little cotton on the side just for fun. Its zeer bull s h i t. fOR the OFFICIAL LANGUAGE i put gibberish, something captain silly socks can relate too.
