What brand of track? It seems after 20 years they would have it figured out. Longer track life on challenger. My neighbour has an 09 quad with the Ivco Never touched anything on the tracks. They got it at an auction when it was a year old. They pull a set of Superb’s at harvest with it. 7500 acer farm so it gets some use. They pull a 18 yard scraper with it. Too bad cat didn’t make a quad

Both machines were Camoplast, one was an AG belt and one a scraper belt. I know I won't get Challenger type life out of quadtrac belts, but this surprised me. I have a 3000 hour MT865E and other than some corn stubble chewing the belts are like new.

A neighbour who has run quad tracks for years says 3000h on a set belts. The lugs don’t wear out, they just come apart. I was shocked by that. We have 7,000h on a set of 36” belts on a 855A, and I expect the belts to last at least to 10,000h

I have heard its the running temperature that causes the early failure. Quadtracks just get much hotter then two trackers. Just what Ive heard.

It seemed like the newer 500qt looked like that alot sooner then the 485qt. Idk if it was track quality, 30 vs 36, or something in the worse in the newer undercarriage. It looked like that when it showed up with 1200 hours and it's at 2500 hours no and looks no worse. We only road at 16mph with it though and im not sure how it was treated beforehand

Good as place as any to ask I suppose...do they recap those tracks and like keep reusing them? Won't deny I have eyed them up for certain alternative uses, but have never really pursued getting any

Looks like Camso tracks. Think this is more common on Camso vs Continental / Goodyear. From what I understand the lugs on a Camso are attached / bonded on in a seperate process where as on a Continental the lugs are molded in the same single process as the rest of the belt.

I was looking at a versatile 550DT today. Has over 2000 hours on it. Lots of cracks on the inside of the track between the drive lugs. Front tracks have some stubble wear.

I have heard its the running temperature that causes the early failure. Quadtracks just get much hotter then two trackers. Just what Ive heard. I think it may have something to do with the size of the idlers and drives. Two tracked units have less bending of the track compared to quad tracks which would probably explain the cracking too.

Ive got an older 2009 535 Pro Quadtrac with 3000hrs and the tracks are fine except for some stubble burn. Very little wear really. Id expect to get 10000 hrs at this rate, barring something unforseen happening. Mine are Good Year which normally I'm not a big fan of. Of interest might be a conversation I once had with a Cummins rep about the QSX engine in my unit. He told me that in testing the engine and powertrain were standing up at the 800 hp level in the quadtracs but the weak point was the tracks. They were suffering a much reduced service life. Possible explanation to why the belts aren't standing up with the bigger power and further tuning.
