About to start digging into a cr8.90 that has had techs from 3 dealerships look at and cant figure out so thought I'd check in here first. Using any hydraulic function from from reel position to rotor speed adjust and anywhere in between causes the feederhouse to dip 6 inches and then spring back as soon as you release the button.
It seems like using another hydraulic function bleeds pressure out of the cylinders. I dont believe its electronic from everything I can tell on how it springs back and the fact that each tech spent all their time on their laptops and found nothing and no codes thrown.
It also will not send hydraulic flow to reel drive motor or lateral tilt.
My first guesses are either contamination in the valve bodies or something is bypassing but if anyone has dealt with this I would love to hear from you

Not familiar with how the machine is set up, but is the table height controlled automatically? Failures within multi function valve blocks can cause things to happen, but what makes no mechanical sense is how it returns to the previous height on its own, unless there is other powers that be contributing, which if so, I suspect therein lies the problem.

If it springs back up to the set height again would it be the auto height compressing the accumulators allowing it to go down then go back up? Seems like it it was pressurizing or by passing it would just keep moving then stay where it was. Unless the auto height is returning it to that position

Turns out one of the previous guys to work on it had replaced o rings in the main lines behind the left tire and then put the lines on backwards that supplied the feeder valve stack and because this combine has feeder down pressure that is tied into that line too it just made the feeder fight the accumulator and then bypassed all the oil away from feeder stack.

A computer wont tell you that. Seems like if the computer doesn’t say the new techs can’t fix it.

Theres also another tractor in the shop torn apart with the oil pump out on a 2 month backorder. This just in time supply goes bad fast and could really screw a guy during harvest. Also is wasting shop space unnecessarily out of season here
