That's excellent, thanks for the great info again. I feel better now and will keep a close eye, and ear on them. They are next to the yard so that helps.

100 ways for a cow to die and some try every one of them.
Had an old one last month that got over centered twice. Doesn't take much to help them out, I put a log chain around her neck and pulled her up with the atv. Just have to talk nice to get the chain back.

Was out the other day with the yearlings and grabbed a couple pics of EatMor...normally when you see a cow like this high on the left, she is in trouble, but with this one, the nerves from her stomach to brain don't connect properly and she doesn't stop eating when she should. Thus the name and yes its from the Chic-Fil--A cows lol.

Since this has sort of become the general cow thread I'll stick this in here...and many don't believe paper cattle exist lol. Sounds like this case was more defrauding Tyson rather than avoiding income tax. I won't mention any names, they are either respected or hated in the AB cattle biz, but my father owned some of them, its an interesting game and works good as long as no one gets caught. I knew all about and knew the people involved in case anything ever happened that things were paid out, and by the time cancer was knocking at the door the old man had finished up those dealings. www.drovers.com/news/beef-production/judge-denies-tysons-claim-against-easterday-sale

AB I've heard of "paper cattle" before but the whole Easterday thing is a whole new level.
Meskie- heard a line before that cattle have killed a lot of people without cattle being involved.

You’d have to be one hell of a smooth talker with a good accountant to cook the books on that many paper cattle.

Guy who backgrounds cattle for JGL told me last winter they were told to pull all the calves with speckle and Hereford in them as there wasn’t enough capacity at the packers and they wanted the carcasses as big as possible.
