Just finished combining my Oreana barley. Yielded very good, but flat as a pancake in places. Had Synergy, and XENA beside it, both those varieties had lodged as well, but not as much. Based on my monitor, the Oreana did outyield the other varieties where it was standing by 8 bu or so. Oreana is about 8 inches shorter, so didn't expect that amount of lodging. Anyone else grown this variety, and what type of experiences have you had?

I’ve had good results growing oreana, never had much problems with it lodging. Just your typical head land over lap and such. Real good test weight and out yields other feed barley by about 10% is what I have found.

Sounds like if Syngenta can get Moddus registered you will have a good option for growth regulator in barley.
How much N are you putting to it?

Yeah, Moddus would have helped. Agronomist is telling me we should have for next season. Just 100N, but was on some pretty high OM soil, and I think there was carry from last year's hailed canola crop.
I had the yield advantage at about 8 bu. Good enough it got my attention for another season.
