Lots of versions of this song that came from Steve Windwood for that short time he paired up with Eric Clapton as Blind Faith. But not many in studio versions of the song by either of them over the following years so I found this one by Styx interesting for being close to the original. Many other versions are good in their own way, the song seems to lend itself well to various styles.

I always like Johnny Cash and June Carter songs. I ran into this remixed one. I always felt sorry as he aged, lost his voice and his abilities to belt out the way he used to. This must have been one of his last songs. I still enjoy his simple tones and even this song!

Seems right, a rapper is the best that country music can put forward.
Basically confirms my thinking that this kind of stuff goes against what the fans want and is rather more about a select few dictating to anyone with a radio what they people will hear. It's been a very long time since music on the radio had anything to do with what listeners want to hear. It's why music keeps "reinventing itself" and we get told that artists need to keep changing their music to keep up with trends. Not really. It's about people in control deciding what people will be fed and then making artists conform.
If people really wanted rap music then don't turn on country music stations. It's pretty simple. And if a rapper thinks he is country then probably a good idea to make a change in what you are doing. Instead we have the music industry forcing this stuff on the listeners. Yeah, I streamed his album, and it ain't country. I don't mind the one song but i also wouldn't mind hearing actual country music and new country artists vs what the people at the top are pushing down on the public and telling us we must like it because they say so and hand out some awards to prove it.

A.K.A. Dickhead! The good lord is what made his music awesome! Man, what is it with these "country music artists" egos? LOL. Any bigger and they would need a wheelbarrow to haul them around.

I certainly loved the song by Chris Isaak. Here was a couple of renditions that fascinate me. Very simple by Tenacious D and very naughty by Hauser!
