So what do think this latest buy out means for the future of these three dealerships? Price up and service quality down or maybe the opposite? Don't really know a ton about Mazergroup but looks like they are heading to be in line with the Pattison multi store mega dealership plan.

Not too many locally owned NH dealers left now. We still got farm world close to us which is nice but who knows for how much longer.
I think mazergroup would be better then RME buying them up from what I’ve heard from a few guys.

That's interesting. Somebody must have a master plan here because I'm not sure the farm equipment business is really the best thing to be investing in these days.
I'd take Mazergroup over any of the big Deere outfits or certainly RME. They have good people in town here and parts are more reasonable than the others although not what one would call cheap. Never good when something approaches monopoly status though, which is basically where we are at.

They're alright as a dealership, but like with any monopoly, it sure doesn't help with price comparisons. We have not had a choice in New Holland dealers locally for quite awhile now. Worst part is it limits shopping around for a better deal without changing brands. It's the way business is going, personally I don't think it's for the best. Not sure who is all involved in his business, but Bob must be mid 60's by now, unless he plans on selling out shares it's a pretty big business for anyone to buy out lock stock and barrel, maybe his son's are involved, I'm not sure.

I can't speak for other dealerships, but if they run their new acquisitions like my local one they should be alright. The local dealer is excellent in every department.

Mergers and buyouts are never better for the farmer or customer. Ever. Hopefully service will be at least the same. But shop rates will go up, guaranteed. As will the price of parts. A merger/buyout gets a bigger pool of used machines to pick from if you're lucky, but that's about it. The only people who benefit from mergers and buyouts are the executives making big salaries.

Bob Mazer helped me finance a lot of my equipment when other dealerships passed on me. I was just a young guy 23, and in a short time I had a complete line up of new Holland equipment. He s a good guy and took a chance on me back than and helped me get established in farming. It is sure handy to have a wide net work of dealerships to get product or service. However , I have sure seen Things change in 30 years.

Mazer has been pretty good to me, and I thought their parts in stock has been reasonable. The few times I have needed a field service call they have been there in less the 2 hours and I am 45 minutes away. I think they are suffering a high turnover rate of mechanics, but the case and deere dealers are worse yet around here. It's getting the 3/4 of the shop will be different every 3-5 years at some of the local dealers

Got a price on trading off our '13 CX8080 on a '16 CR8.9, less hours, can't remember exactly but not a lot. Let's just say they aren't "passing on the savings". Good chance for the first time in 30 years there might be a new brand of combine in our yard if we decide to trade.

Well Kevlar I know on the other forum DONKEY might be able to point you to a green machine!lol Hey what do you like about your cx8080 compared to the big new Holland twin rotor. I used to own two new Holland rotors years ago, a tr 96 and a tr 98 and always felt they lack power.

We used to run the twin rotors before this CX. Had a TR 96, 97 CR 940, 970, then 2 different 9070's. Salesman said the 8080 would out do the CR it replaced, but no matter what we have tried it won't, just can't push it at all without putting it out the back. If you take your time it's ok, just not as good as the rotors. The CX is good on fuel and has been pretty trouble free, except the air filter issues that we got solved last year. Our main crops are barley and canola, and it sounds like everyone else agrees those two crops are it's weakness for some reason. In dry crops, if that happens, it will crack a fair bit.
Pretty sure there won't be a Deere in our yard, in fact 100% sure on that. Won't necessarily not be a New Holland, but will be shopping around a lot more than in the past. What they offered for ours was kind of an insult. Top dollar for the one they are selling. We could keep ours and buy one newer than ours and still be paying less, and have two machines.

Keeping your trade and buying another and be money ahead isn’t just a new holland or dealer problem. We looked at trading our claas and came to the same conclusion.

I often wonder what the manufacturers think of these companies having monopolies? Likely prefer it, but in my mind it's kind of putting all your eggs in one basket. I remember a few years back a large Case dealership in the US was in bad financial shape, don't know what happened in the end. If one of these companies in Canada were to go broke, and we all know there is no such thing as too big to fail, that would be a huge loss for the manufacturer, with no one else able to take over.

Kevlar , Don't want to be a DONKEY, lol , but what do you have against deere. what is your closest deere dealer. The new Holland and case are good options also! wished I had more options here in morris, but I really don't want to travel more than 10 minutes for parts. Enns Bros rules the roost here! I like the CASE rotor myself and wished my dealer was close by, all 3 are more than 45 minutes away. parts and service are more important than colour of machine to me.
