They have been around here for years. They mostly stay out of our crop land. They do sone damage in our corn we graze the cows on. There is a guy that traps them in the winter and had it setup on our land 2 years ago. Had 10 of them in the pen but the cell based latch didn’t work so they got away.

Never seen any sign of them around here, but there are people that say they are not far away in Sprucewoods park and near Minnedosa, who knows? This thread is a good idea though, it will probably be more accurate and timely than the government program.

We had lots around here few years ago. They had planes and helicopters out locating them to tranqulize and add trackers so they could located the heards to shoot. Guys were shooting them regularly. One of my fields there are runs thru the willows they have made. They can root up stubble with their snouts to make it look like a tandem disk worked the land. Havn't really seen any indications or heard of sightings for the last few years...wonder if that high snow year few years back thinned them out some?

Not a whole lot slows them down, just like weeds. The stuff we don't like somehow seems to thrive under the harshest conditions. You would think though, that a hard winter would slow them down.
