I am Really happy with the performance and how quiet my HD10 by 46 Meridian auger operates compared to my former westfield and 35 hp kolher engine. especially like the HD mover kit and the light package on it and the digital rpm readout. My only concern is no chock located on engine unless I am wrong and it is built into the throttle. Has anyone encountered problems in colder climates starting this motor. any feed back would be helpful. I was always annoyed with my many kohlers over the years back firing and the oil pan filling up with gas.

It’s an EFI. There is no choke. Starts great only complaint initially is it needed to be about 3/4 throttle to start and stay running but about 8 months ago I switched to premium gas on the farm for all small motors and now it starts up and idles perfectly

Probably the lack of ethanol that made the difference you think? I have a similar size kohler with a carb on a Meridian conveyor and it needs choke to start, even in summer. I also have a smaller EFI kohler on a Batco conveyor that I have a love/hate relationship with. Normally it runs perfect, except when it doesn't...lol The Meridian(Sakundiak) augers are nice and smooth for sure.
