Heat is often a pretty big clue.

As I was installing the borrowed motor I had to pull the flighting out partially. As I was pulling and pulling not seeing any flighting I gave it a good yank and finally saw the flighting. All piled up. I tried sending a pic but image was too large.

I imagine as you pulled out that mess you said to yourself "Well There's Your Problem Lady" in a sarcastic voice LOL. I think its reasonably safe to believe the tractor hydraulics are ok, the motor probably not so healthy as the mechanic pointed out, your replacement motor is anyones guess until it proves itself. Now the flighting issue and how to go about repairing that, if a new flighting assembly can be rounded up for a reasonable price or that shaft has to be reused or one made up like it. The problem with do it yourself auger flighting welding onto the shaft is almost a guarantee of warping the shaft and just creating a mess that either binds in the auger tube or rattles something awful if not done correctly. The only way to have auger flighting fit on the shaft properly it has to be stretched and not sure if they also have tension on the shaft to help with avoiding warpage and short welds and so on and I think a factory lays the components in a trough of sorts to hold alignment plus however they attach to stretch it.
I would imagine the auger got full of product at the top as the tank got full and backed up into the auger and the flighting was worn, welds maybe not the best and was like dominos that it just collapsed down the shaft. How it ever augered anything that way is amazing.
Photos, did you use the link at the bottom of your reply window "upload images" and then choose "browse from your computer" as that does usually work but maybe it has its limits too as the other method at the top of your reply window doesn't work because it has to be paid for to the website.

Check in rosenort . They have a few business that make auger flightings . Yes, that was the plan. I’ve picked up some flighting there in the past. Northern Farmer, it worked! Thanks!
