I thought hopper bins were a dime a dozen this year! It felt odd buying a couple of meridian 6400 bushels hopper bins because of the the poorer crops around. Meridian had lots of bins to choose from, no shortage to mention. Even got them down 4500 dollars per bin due to competitor price.

You couldn't get a bin here right now even if you brought little baby Jesus in with you.

Family member that sells bins told me yesterday that if a guy ordered a bin now you could probably expect it up in October. Also that the demand has completely died so the lead time will be getting smaller

I would think this year there will be a lot of bins not even getting used, so makes sense that there is no purchases going on.
I've read that containers are something like 10X as much to get shipped from asia and not many available, seems like it's coordinated. Seemingly daily explosions in chemical and petroleum plants may lead to fuel and chemical shortages too?
Best to have what you need a year in advance these days, kinda hard to run a business with these supply chain issues. Will lead to a decrease in business activity/production and further drive inflation. Vicious cycle.

Labour pool is short and businesses are suffering. Will see economy going backwards for the time being. Kinda dumb. We want to repatriate manufacturing and get our people working but pay them not to work.

Well its been nine weeks since I ordered my atv. They said the 2022 models will get pushed back. I was hoping they would just replace my 2021 order with a 2022 machine if its yet been made. Even in winnipeg, dealers of car and truck are scarce with vehicles. Any body order special sports cars like a mustang or challenger or camaro and what kind of wait there is. Wife said I could buy one if the canola does 60! No hope in hell of that happening but at least now i can imagine the top down cruising down to cali!

Seems everyone has a story about things they were unable to get, and it would appear that this is only gonna get worse(possibly much worse). I would imagine we will be in a situation where fuel is being rationed in the not too distant future as well as other inputs such as chem and fert in short supply. Won't be all things at all times, but it's definitely time to be planning ahead.

Canada boarder patrol went on strike. Trucks lined up for miles.

I wonder if this strike is what it is as its presented as per wage parity or if there is some other aspect such as a push back to the states even though we have opened our borders to the south. It certainly won't help movement of goods into Canada, nor will it help those from the US who were more then likely lined up to head into Canada and up to Alaska.

Beerwiser has been good about handling the few that have come on here as its happened a few times now, I sent a note to Beer just to give him a heads up so he can delete Davids message and ours as well I assume when he has a chance.
