Building upon the greatversatility of SunnyBrook frames for CR’s ……. I’m going to try this setup in a YM20 TP CR in direct comparison with another YM20 TP CR with OEM concaves. Both run Intellisense. Both will have (if they can get them in time) all spiked bars over the separation area & LSW grates …… with the ability to clip on covers - if required. The current dealer/OEM setup is certainly not allowing these machines to reach their potential capacity. This design thrashing boxes has been working extremely well in Case flagship machines in our conditions …… so it’s worth a try to see if the same improvements can be delivered in CR’s.

After looking at box setup. Isn’t there a lot of blocked off area. %of open area would be less than the traditional bar with wires?

It’s designed to make it thrash aggressively, early - then maximum separation via “round” & LSW grates. ALL rotors have rotor loss issues ……. & it initially comes from poor thrashing.

I tried them on my gleaner. Needed to make a blank off plate or something ,always struggled with whitecaps in Durum wheat. My thoughts are the hole in the maxthrash box allows too many heads through. I don’t know how it can’t.

It does seem like some fairly large openings at the front there. Also hard to see but isn't the only keystock on the angled part? Rest is round-bar?
Is this a wheat setup primarily?

The “max thrash” in the extension are just SB standard max thrash as I haven’t had any of those made in the configuration of what’s in the main first & second rows of the concave. These are stainless steel boxes, 7.25mm gap, with 3 x 10mm 4140 bar on top. The round bars certainly make it thrash but don’t cut up the straw like a square edged (cross) bar does in any normal concave. I was sceptical they would work in peas etc. I thought they would block up ….. but users have said “no problem”. In all canola, cereals, pulses that I’ve done & other customers have done with their own machines, there’s definitely an improvement in thrashing & then overall machine capacity. All this has been done with Case flagship machines. From 8230’s to 8250’s ……. all have gained performance. NH do have their “thrashing issues” - so it’s worth a try to try these to see what happens.

I had the a max thrash in the front two rows on my gleaner. I see now that you have them in the extension. It should be a lot better than what I was doing

Have you now got a CR or still with Gleaner? If a CR, just wondering if you're running those "finger" separation grates in any positions?

Still have one gleaner. Got a 2017 cr9.90 last fall. There is a row of finger grates. Ran it in canola last fall.

Yes, all finger grates out. They’d make good wheel chocks I reckon!

Kinda wishing now when I had the gleaner that I put the max thrash boxes in the second or third row. Not the first. I did run two rows of the large round bars in lentils. Dropped the cracks way down. Sample was so good that the elevator asked if I had them cleaned.
Robertson has YouTube combine clinic. The guy talks about guys forgetting to take the blank off plates out and doing peas. Claims zero dockage.

When do you get to run your new concaves?
