I wouldn’t go more then 10’ on a loader frame with a pusher. A 8’ pusher would do twice as much as a 8’ bucket.

That’s what I had looked at was a 10 foot. Would only be using it to push out the yard which lowers the risk of twisting up the loader quite a bit. 280 loader on that tractor. The one driveway is quite long and I like to push all the snow out to the edge of yard that’s why I had started looking into these things. Place in Manitoba is building 10 footers for 5 grand. Haven’t priced out an HLA yet and the degelman one is near 10 grand. That’s the strongbox model that u just grab with your bucket and secure with a couple chains. Nice thing about that one is the bucket can stay on all the time which is nice for when it’s bale feeding time. Prob to pricey for me though.

Best ever was years ago when I was running the groomer for the snowmobile club. First pass we'd always go with an old Bombardier BR400+ then once the trail was established we'd just pull the skid with a quadtrac.
Anywho, because we'd always be putting that quad or the BR or skid in our shop throughout the winter to thaw it out or maintain it and never billed the club I made an arrangement that we could use the BR to clear the yard.
That's the answer right there.
What would take 7 hours with our snow blower and the front end loader on the 6400 took 45 minutes with a ski-hill groomer. Haha. When they sold that thing we shoulda bought it just for clearing yards. Never spin out and with the 10 way or whatever it is blade on there you could do anything you wanted.

Haha, Jcalder. The wife wants a snowcat in the worst way, I don't know why but she does. If I had money to spare I would buy one. We have a nodwell, but I guess it is not good enough....

Used to use it for spraying and for a couple of springs used it to drag bale feeders in and out because the 2290 wouldn't make it in the corrals.

What about just making longer side plates that that extend forward you could bolt or pin on?

Haha, Jcalder. The wife wants a snowcat in the worst way, I don't know why but she does. If I had money to spare I would buy one. We have a nodwell, but I guess it is not good enough.... Used to own a Bombardier BR350 with a 12 way blade and used it to put in and maintain existing roads for oil and gas fields between Wabasca and Fort McMurray. When things slowed you could pick them up pretty reasonable at Ritchie's and for that reason when we got out of it my machine came back home to sell privately, in the meantime however I used it to clean the yard and clean out grain bags and bale piles. Saved quite a few hours of pushing snow over the old 4WD or front end loader and was definitely a lot more comfortable doing it but we got what we wanted out of it privately so we let it go. I've often thought about picking up another one cheap at a sale though. Kids liked it for pushing snow because I would gather all the snow out of the yard and make 1 massive pile for them to slide on and tunnel in. Also had an older (think it was a 2002) BR275 with a Cummins in the bush and that was a good machine, a few less bells and whistles than the 350 and remember seeing a number of them sell for $10-20,000 at sales.

What about just making longer side plates that that extend forward you could bolt or pin on? I had thought about that only problem Is we use the bucket to feed bales every second day or so so it they would have to quickly come off or be able to stay on to grab bales. Should look into it closer maybe.

I know of a couple guys that folded loader arms on the Deere 148-158 loaders with angle blades pushing snow at Mach 2 and hit something. I have visions of converting an old degelman blade into a snow pusher for our payloader
