Hello, new to this forum and thought id look for some advice. Just purchased a 2004 2062 flex draper for our 2388. Went to pick it up and dont seem to have enough hydraulics to lift it. Curious if I need the third lift cylinder or maybe just some hydraulic adjustment. Thanks

Welcome!
I'm not sure if there is a way to change the lift pressure but some headers definitely needed the third cylinder. How wide is the head?

I suspect there was a reason for the 3rd lift cylinder to be offered on these combines.

Head is 30 foot, been reading in the manual and next step is to check pressures. Waiting on a neighbor to bring gauges and fittings over. Talked to the guy I got the head from and he said he had it on a 2388 without the third cylinder

Had this conversation with a neighbor today. He has a 5088 which he put bigger lift cylinders on to pick a 30' draper. Apparently the 5088 could come equipped with smaller cylinders for some reason, not sure the 2388 would be the same way without looking up parts.
Like he said, bigger cylinders cost him $2000 but without them it wouldn't quite lift high enough to engage safety stop, and while expensive it a far cheaper option then a funeral.
